If initial reports are to be believed, Dua Lipa and her fiancé, British actor Callum Turner, are set to get married in Palermo, Sicily. Palermo’s Giornale di Sicilia has reported that the couple has selected the Sicilian capital as their wedding destination.
According to those reports, the wedding is slated for a three-day celebration running from Sept. 5 to 7, 2026. The reported venue is Villa Igiea, a historic Art Nouveau palazzo overlooking the Gulf of Palermo. Part of the Rocco Forte group, the hotel has hosted royalty and dignitaries for decades. An entire floor of suites is said to have been reserved to accommodate guests, with the hotel itself reportedly booked for a full week.
Adding fuel to the reports, Lipa was recently spotted meeting with Alessandra Grillo, a prominent Italian wedding planner, in what many have taken as a near-confirmation of the ceremony’s planning phase. Italian outlet Dagospia first reported the sighting.
The venue choice carries a personal dimension that has only amplified fan enthusiasm. In the summer of 2025, Lipa and Turner spent several days in Palermo together, visiting the Palatine Chapel, the Cathedral and the church of Santa Caterina and strolling along Via Maqueda.
Lipa later posted photographs from the trip on Instagram with the caption, “Palermo in my heart.” At the time, it read like a travel post; in retrospect, some fans now wonder whether it was an early hint of the couple’s plans.
The reported guest list includes Elton John, Olivia Dean, Mark Ronson and Charli XCX News, as well as Donatella Versace and Blackpink’s Rosé, according to earlier reports. An insider has revealed to Style that the couple intends to keep numbers deliberately small, with some notable omissions expected: “They’re being very strict about numbers,” the source said.
Now that marriage appears to be on the horizon, it is worth revisiting how the couple’s relationship developed. Lipa told British Vogue that she first met Turner at The River Cafe in London, where they were introduced by the restaurant’s co-founder. It was not until a year later, when they crossed paths at a restaurant in Los Angeles, that the two truly connected.
Turner has described having “five near-misses” with Lipa before that fateful encounter.
That second meeting proved decisive. Seated next to each other before a mutual friend’s birthday party in Los Angeles, the pair realized they were both reading the same novel — “Trust,” by Hernán Díaz, and had each just finished the first chapter. Lipa later told British Vogue the coincidence made her feel “one thousand per cent” they were meant to be.
As of the time of writing, though, neither Lipa nor her representatives has confirmed any wedding plans.
