Dr Stone Season 3 Part 1 Ending Explained: Did Senku Succeed in Creating the Nitric Acid?

Dr Stone Season 3 Part 1 Ending Explained: The last episode of the anime series consisted of some vital elements that serve as a build-up for the upcoming second part.

Dr Stone (ドクターストーン) is an animation series based on the manga of the same name written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by the South Korean artist Boichi. After a blinding green light strikes the Earth and petrifies mankind around the world—turning every single human into stone, humanity goes back in time. Years of civilisation have disappeared, and the only hope to rebuild it is in the hands of a brilliant scientist, Senku.

From studios of TMS Entertainment, the show is produced by TOHO Animation, Shueisha and 8PAN. Each episode has a runtime of 20-25 minutes.

Dr Stone Season 3 Part 1 Ending Explained

After Senku and a few capable candidates for King of Science sailed into the sea to search for the Treasure Box left away by Ishimiya, they were met with another set of problems. The Treasure Box consisted of many valuable elements inside it, but what Senku was after was the Platinum which will be used to create the Nitric Acid, aka The Elixir of Life and free everyone from their stone form.

However, as soon as they stepped onto the island, a few of the members, including Ryusui, Chrome, Kinro and more, were petrified by the unknown green beam. Senku, along with Kohaku, Asagiri, Ginro and Suika, fortunately, escaped the attack, but now it is up to them to help their friends.

Did Kohaku find the treasure?

After much effort, Kohaku, in Dr Stone Season 3 Episode 11, with her extraordinary abilities, was able to locate the treasure box. However, upon finding it she realised that it was covered with a concrete slab that requires a huge amount of force for it to break open. But even though she possessed the strength to break it, she would not be able to do it without alerting the villagers about her action, which can endanger her position. Hence, Senku builds a ‘silent bomb’ to help her break it open.

What was inside the treasure box?

Kohaku was able to break open the concrete and bring out the contents but she was shocked to see what was left inside. It consisted of a bottle of golden sand and she sent it to Senku. Later Senku figured out that the sand had small pieces of platinum inside it that was collected by Ishimiya for decades.

Was Kohaku caught?

The next day the guards of the village did a thorough search near the spaceship. The guards saw a piece of glass near the area that raised suspicions. Although they were confused about the entire situation, Ishimiya figured out that there was an intruder among them who was informing the enemies about their whereabouts.

Was Senku able to create the Nitric Acid?

As usual, Senku got right into his science experiments to figure out a way to create the Nitric Acid that will help to undo the petrification. At first, he separated the tiny specks of platinum dust from the sand. Then he created a distillation system which will ultimately create Nitric Acid. After a lot of hard work, he finally achieved his objective.
