The new episode starts where the previous one ended, and the plot develops accordingly. As we have seen in the second episode that Senku and his friends make good use of the cameras he has built. He uses it not just to take pictures of the events taking place in the village but also to scout the area from above on his hot air balloon and search for the oil fields. It is paid the utmost importance in the episode because the resource is not just an important discovery but also the only thing that will take them across the world.

But before they make the journey through Japan, other important aspects are also shown. Francois plays a huge role in this episode as they successfully find a very rare ingredient for the cooking of gourmet dishes. Their intelligence is showed of adequately, and the viewers will realise the importance of the character in the story. Apart from being extremely intelligent, they also showcase a considerable amount of emotions when they usually remain cold and loyal to their duties.

Moreover, Suika also played a major part in the discovery of the rare item. She is often ignored or disregarded mainly due to her age however, she has proved the naysayers wrong and displayed immense productivity. Due to her vast knowledge of the village, she could easily solve any problem given to her. Another important quality about her is revealed that she has a unique connection with animals and can tame them at her will.

Kohaku’s role has diminished in the previous episodes, and viewers must have missed her. But she appears greatly in the latest episode, where she displays her skills and reigns victorious in her mission. Her wonderful personality and quick thinking help the crew to search for the most important element needed for their journey.

The story progression is slow, yet it is an interesting watch. The important details and each step is shown adequately. Moreover, none of the important plot points is skipped, which will create a sense of disconnect with the manga readers. People who have not read the source material will hardly find any difference, as the creators have done an excellent job of following the story.
