Doctor Slump (닥터슬럼프) is a new Korean medical rom-com that tells the story of two intelligent individuals who have been rivals throughout their school days. However, they are soon to once again face each other when they find each other at their worst moment and decide to become a place of comfort for each other.
Directed by Oh Hyun-jong, the drama stars Park Shin-hye, Park Hyung-sik, Yoon Park, Kong Seong-ha, Jang Hye-jin, and Hyun Bong-sik, alongside other cast members. Doctor Slump takes over the JTBC’s Saturday and Sunday 22:30 time slot previously occupied by Welcome to Samdal-ri.

An unexpected reunion leaves Jeong-woo and Ha-neul in shock as memories of the past remain when the former began a rivalry with Ha-neul after being defeated by her one time. Believing his pride to not let him stay in her building, Ha-neul is relieved but Jeong-woo is not ready to move and tries to make it known.
Later, a man tries to break into his house but fails. The next day, Jeong-woo fails to find another place but finds the peculiarities in the person who assisted him in the surgery on the fateful day. He then spots Ha-neul and mocks her for being happy and satisfied with life, unaware that she just received a message from her next appointment with a psychiatrist.
Later, Ha-neul is called in for surgery with her superior whose incompetence is covered by Ha-neul’s skills. However, the next day after her psychiatrist advised her to rest, she was called to apologise to the client whose daughter the surgery was conducted on. She is angry about the bruises on her arm and when Ha-neul is asked to apologise, she finally quits as she cannot bear putting her health at risk.
The news travels and soon her mother finds out about the same which leaves her shocked while Ha-neul runs away when her mother doesn’t believe in her. This is overheard by Jeong-woo and he later offers to grab drinks with Ha-neul. However, they end up in the place where their school reunion is taking place and someone starts badmouthing Jeong-woo.
Jeong-woo leaves from there while his two friends follow him and one of them accuses him of ruining their lives. Jeong-woo tells them that they quit their jobs for other reasons and not him and is aware of the division of income that they did from the ad revenues. He tells them that he knows everything but says nothing as they are his friends.
Ha-neul overhears this and later the two go for drinks where they get drunk due to a silly competition. The two finally confide in each other and later Ha-neul receives a message from her mother which leaves her crying. Seeing her Jeong-woo begins crying and the two finally cry in each others’ arms.

The two regret their actions in the morning and promise to stay away from alcohol and each other. However, fate is not ready to separate them as they get together to have fun in life after a series of events. Jeong-woo finally begins understanding the woman Ha-neul is and the two slowly form a happy friendship.

The series will stream from January 27, 2024, to March 17, 2024. Episode 3 of the series will stream on February 3 at 10:30 PM KST (8:30 PM IST).
