Doctor Slump Episode 1 Recap

In the first episode, Ha-neul and Jeong-woo, both frenemies from high school and brilliant in academics, are going through a tough time in adulthood. Although both had high hopes for the future at first, Jeong-woo’s illustrious plastic surgery business goes up in flames when he operates on a hot-shot client from Macau who dies under mysterious circumstances. Although he refuses any malpractice, he is eventually framed for her murder and risks losing everything, including his dear friends from childhood.

On the other hand, Ha-neul is now an anesthesiologist whose senior is constantly verbally abusing her and her resilient attitude has resulted in her constantly working day in and day out. In the end, not taking care of her health results in her passing out from abdominal pain in the middle of oncoming traffic. Turns out, a gallbladder operation solved that problem but what arises as a result of it is that she realises that when the truck was about to hit her, she wished for her life to end.

She visits a therapist, who tells her that she is depressed and advises her to take some medication. She refuses at first and on her way back home, she finds a man on her terrace, who turns out to be Jeong-woo.

Doctor Slump Episode 2 Prediction

After the heated first meeting, Jeong-woo extends an invitation to Ha-neul to share a drink with her although she refuses at first. Soon enough, though, she realises that she cannot go on like this and having had enough, she tells her senior off and walks off. Her mother, always doting on her, comes across her medications and refuses to believe that Ha-neul is depressed which sparks a fight between the two of them. Eventually, she agrees to go for a drink with him. In between, we also see more of their shared past and maybe even why Ha-neul was unable to do her best during the exams all those years ago.
