Doctor Cha Episode 11 Recap
Get ready for the heat, you all. This episode was unhinged as hell. We start off by seeing Jeong-suk in the car with Dr Jeon. They are on a drive, and the rain has made its entrance. However, Jeong-suk comes back home and remembers everything that happened at the hospital where Eun-seo treated her wrist. It is just now hitting her how everything has been so chaotic in her life, especially since this happened at the time when she’s doing her Residency (after 20 years).
That same night, instead of getting coffee from the machine her husband bought her, she goes to his office and throws it towards the floor along with the bracelet he got her as a gift. The next morning, she calls a meeting with Seung-hi and explains to both of them, that she knows about the affair and if Seo In-ho won’t come to this meeting, then she will tell everyone about the affair, and soon the whole hospital will know. Obviously, In-ho doesn’t want that.
He comes to Seung-hi’s office. Jeong-suk explains that she does not care about what In-ho wants to do. She will continue doing what she wants, including deciding whether she wants a divorce or not. She also says that this whole feud has gone too far. In-ho explains that he and Seung-hi were planning to break up anyway, but she negates that completely. Jeong-suk is already annoyed she has to have this conversation. She wants to make sure that she completes her Residency. She puts the condition forward that Seung-hi should quit the hospital and she’ll even get a job anywhere.

In-ho and Seung-ho have a short conversation after this, discussing the nature of their relationship. Jeong-suk gets back to work and tries to go about her day. That day at home, his whole family is sitting on the dining table, and they are all asking him what his next move is, and he is being his spineless self before saying that he doesn’t want to get a divorce. In-ho returns to his office and sees the coffee machine on the floor and the bracelet. At that same time, she walks in and completely annhilates him.
Walking in fuming, she asks him how he could let the kids know about all this but never told her, and he explains that they wanted her to be healthy and make a full recovery before they gave her any shocking news that could affect how she saw her job. However, this is still not the most drama during this episode because we see Roy Kim hear all this from outside the door. He speaks to a patient whose parting words were to treat his mother well. In accordance, he calls the police so he can get his DNA registered in order to find his family.
That same night, Seung-hi walks into Jeong-suk’s room to confront her about Eun-seo and the condition she is in. Because of her wrist breaking, the aspiring graduate won’t be able to apply to her desired colleges for early admissions. Jeong-suk explains that she made a bad choice and the fact that Seung-hi’s daughter feels this way is not her fault. She admits that this does not give her satisfaction or happiness. However, this will not stop her from pursuing the methods she wants. Seung-hi proposes that if Jeong-suk divorces In-ho, she will leave the hospital.

Going to sleep with plaguing thoughts, she feels extremely stressed and doesn’t even notice the smoke building up in the building. Roy Kim walks by the dorms and sees the students running out of there. When asked, they said there was an electrical fire in the dorms, but the inside is like a tear gas chamber, so even though there is no fire, the fumes are enough to cause asphyxiation. Without thinking, he runs inside. As Roy Kim heard, In-ho also heard about this fire after this surgery. He runs full speed towards the building and even picks up a blanket for safety.
Roy Kim gets to Jeong-suk’s dorm first and thumps at her door as hard as possible. He calls out her name and tries every other way to get her attention. In doing so, she finally opens the door. Limping and coughing, she goes out the door. In-ho has just made it to her floor and is about to head towards her room, when he sees Roy Kim and her come out of the hallway together. He is carrying her bridal style, and In-ho cannot bear it. He asks Roy Kim to hand her over to him, and In-ho carries her out.
Jeong-suk immediately asks him to drop her. Jung-min is at the hospital, so he gets her some things from home, and she decides to sleep at the hospital only, but Dr Jeon explains that the rooms are all filled, and since Roy Kim opened his house to the residents, it shouldn’t be a problem. However, Jeong-suk explains that she cannot really do that, so Dr Jeon offers her company. She immediately gets out of the two’s hair and leaves them on their own.

The next morning, Dr Jeon pushes Roy Kim to pursue Jeong-suk. Empowered by this, he goes to the hospital. However, at the budget meeting, his payment is contested by In-ho, and the two of them get into such a heated argument that even Chief Yoon of the department cannot stop it. We then see Chief Yoon and the Chief of the other department fighting like little kids. Once In-ho and Roy Kim are called in to calm them down, they start their own competition and argument with a heavy subtext for their own situation.
Jeong-suk is soon called to the emergency ward. Once she sees what is happening, she realises that she might as well have seen some patient with a terrible accident because watching her husband wrestle her friend on the hospital floor is last on the list of things she wants to see.

Doctor Cha Episode 11 Review
This episode was so unhinged. It felt like the writers are finally gearing up for a big finale. There might not have been something big coming, but the confrontation and how they made the main character handle it are so good. It must be noted that the writers have a great eye for serendipity because they made Roy Kim pass right by the dorms and had In-ho somewhere far away doing the surgery. The humour is back, but the drama took the cake.

One of the other reasons why this show and this episode work so specifically well, is because we see the validity in multiple perspectives when it comes to this situation. Everyone is not the same, and assigning blame is not that easy, except it is easy to attribute it to In-ho, really showing us how women and other people often feel trapped. Props to the writers for adding that.
