Divorce Attorney Shin Episode 11 continues where we left off in the last episode with Gi-yeong’s cry for help to his uncle Shin Sung-han, while he rethinks Ma Geum-hui’s divorce case and if it’s right for him to take it on.
The cast of the series includes Cho Seung-woo as Shin Sung-han, Han Hye-jin as Lee Seo-jin, Kim Sung-kyun as Jang Hyeong-geun, Jung Moon-sung as Jo Jeong-sik, Kang Mal-geum as Kim So-yeon, Jeon Bae-soo as Park Yu-seok, Han Eun-seong as Choi June, Cha Hwa-yeon as Ma Geum-hee, and Noh Susanna as Jin Young-joo among others.

In episode 11, we finally get to see what really happened on the night when Ju-hwa got hit by the truck. We see her having dinner at a convenience store near her house and since it was raining she carries her red umbrella outside. While walking out she receives a phone call from Jin Yeong-ju, who was calling from Hawaii and tells her how she will take her place no matter what she does.
She threatens Ju-hwa to disappear from their lives by either going to Germany to Sung-han or simple drop dead, or Yeong-ju will harm Gi-yeong. Scared for what might happen, Ju-hwa steps into the road without thinking much as all her attention was on the call & suddenly a truck hits her, leaving her dead.
In the present day, Gi-yeong tells Sung-han that he doesn’t feel comfortable in his house & rather prefers to stay in the car driven by Mr Jung and get stuck in traffic forever. But now that little piece of comfort is being taken away from him as Mr Jung has been fired by his stepmother & he feels that nobody is on his side. He also questions his mother’s demise & why did they divorce or if it was because Yeong-ju kicked his mother out. Shocked by his nephew’s plight, Sung-han promises to help him & takes him to the ramen shop before sending him back.

We also get to know that Gi-yeong might be suffering from depression as well and often overeats at the convenience store and then pukes it all out. Driver Mr Jung was the only one who would look out for him but now that he has no authority over him, he shares the kid’s situation with both the Grandmother & Sung-han.
After going over everything that happened to his sister and how he is unable to help Gi-yeong as well, Sung-han decides to give up Ma Geum-hui’s case as he is not able to understand what all happened and why. He tells Geum-hui that she could get at least 27% shares in the company and should settle for it in her divorce case.
Meanwhile, Jin Yeong-ju also visits Park Yu-seok and questions him why he visited Jeong-sik. Yu-seok rather reminds her of the old times and how it was Jeong-sik through which they were able to meet & Yu-seok betrayed his own client ie Ju-hwa. He refers to their deal as a crime & subtly threatens her. At this Yeong-ju tries to strike up another deal & asks him what he wants. He bluntly answers that he wants a coffee franchise store in his name as severance pay.
Ma Geum-hui also visits her son’s house concerned over Gi-yeong and asks him to let Sung-han take his nephew away. But Yeong-ju refuses and makes it about her by asking why she hates her so much. Geum-hui didn’t want to divulge it much but she ends up spilling how she heard the phone call Yeong-ju made from Hawaii to Ju-hwa, before her death & she should rather apologise for everything. She also reveals how Yeong-ju chased after her husband everywhere even though he got married to Ju-hwa, just so she could have him.
Looking at Gi-yeong coming alone to Sung-han, even Jeong-sik gets worried for him, he feels guilty for introducing Yu-seok to Ju-hwa. He goes to Gi-yeong’s school to meet but rather follows around his car, which makes the new driver call the police on him & he ends up in the station. Sung-han is called to get him out of there & they end up meeting with Yeong-ju.
There Yeong-ju lashes out at Sung-han thinking he is the reason that Ma Geum-hui is asking for so much money when she usually donates everything. This strikes a chord with him & he confronts Geum-hui over it, to confirm that she is actually doing everything for Gi-yeong and securing his future. This somewhat assures Sung-han and determines to do everything in his power to help Gi-yeong. We also get to see more of Ju-hwa & how she brought happiness to everyone around her.
On the brighter side, Seo-jin gets an offer to host a 4 PM radio show and she also goes out of her way to help the hate commenter girl by visiting her grandmother’s Sujebi restaurant & listening to their story. Even Hyeong-geun confirms his relationship with So-yeon for good. Also, the way the other three friends are always looking out for each other through thick & thin was heartwarming to watch.
Summing Up: Divorce Attorney Shin Episode 11
The episode was like a preparation for what is to come in the finale. It was shown realistically how Sung-han has to look for all the pros and cons before he treads on the treacherous path to seek justice. He is not a superhuman who will make all things right but rather an ordinary person who will sincerely do anything for his loved ones. It will be interesting to see how he puts up a fight against the Daenam group.
