Disney Plus Day 2022 is a special day for the streaming platform and the company, which will treat its subscribers with additional content premiering globally on September 8 as well as celebrations across Disney Parks, experiences and products. In a recent post on Instagram, Disney+ announced the titles that will be premiering on the platform.

They captioned it with, “Only 16 days, 18 hours, and 59 minutes until September 8, but who’s counting?” and revealed the new titles including Marvel Studios’ Thor Love and Thunder and Assembled: The Making of Thor: Love and Thunder, Obi-Wan Kenobi: A Jedi’s Return, Remembering, Dancing with the Stars: The Pros’ Most Memorable Dances, Tierra Incógnita, the Frozen series sing-alongs, and Welcome to the Club, a new short from The Simpsons, will be released.

The lineup will feature anticipated global premieres from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, The Simpsons, and more. In addition to Pinocchio, a new episode of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Cars on the Road, Growing Up, and Epic Adventures with Bertie Gregory will also premiere on the day.

It is exciting news for the fans as they will be able to see behind the scenes of their favourite film or series like Thor or Obi-Wan Kenobi, through in-depth interviews with cast and crew, along with raw, unseen footage from the set and beyond. Also a new short from the Simpsons will show Lisa Simpson’s heart set on becoming a princess, as she is surprised to learn that being bad might be more fun.

While Dancing With the Stars will look back on the 20 most memorable dances of thirty seasons of the show, chosen by the Pro-Dancers. Along with Growing Up, which is an innovative hybrid docu-series that explores the challenges, triumphs, and complexities of adolescence through ten compelling coming-of-age stories.

The live-action Pinocchio will see Tom Hanks star as Geppetto, the woodcarver who builds and treats Pinocchio (Benjamin Evan Ainsworth) as if he were his real son. Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Jiminy Cricket, who serves as Pinocchio’s guide as well as his conscience, directed by Robert Zemeckis.

Still from Pinocchio

During which Disney will likely be showing off teasers and announcements around its theme parks, as well as some information about upcoming Marvel and Star Wars projects.

From September 8-19, select AMC Theatres will celebrate Disney Plus Day with screenings of fan-favourite movies including Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Encanto, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok, Disney and Pixar’s Cars and Newsies.
