Demon Slayer Season 4 Episode 5 Recap
This episode was a significant improvement over the previous ones, with a faster pace and more focused content. The story begins with Tanjiro visiting Mitsuri for training to enhance his flexibility. Tanjiro has a delightful time here, benefiting from his natural flexibility, which makes this part of his training less challenging.
However, the real test begins when Tanjiro moves on to train under Obanai, who is perpetually irritated with him. The reason for Obanai’s animosity is his deep affection for Mitsuri and his jealousy over Tanjiro’s friendly relationship with her. Despite this, Tanjiro endures the harsh training, learning to strike swiftly while ignoring obstacles, which in this case, are his teammates tied up. This segment is particularly tough for Tanjiro due to Obanai’s strict and intimidating demeanor.

The training intensifies when Tanjiro joins Sanemi, where Zenitsu also makes an appearance.
This episode stands out for not wasting time on trivial details, diving straight into the core training sequences. The quick progression was a pleasant surprise, keeping the narrative engaging and dynamic. The music, as always, plays a crucial role, enhancing the intensity of the action scenes, particularly during Tanjiro’s relentless battle with Obanai.
