Crash Course in Romance Ending Explained
Crash Course in Romance Episode 16 of the series brought about a sense of closure and contentment for the characters and the viewers alike. The last episode also portrayed the intriguing lives of the characters, while also tying up the loose ends of the story.
From what we know after watching the episode, Hae-e’s decision to move away from her biological mother had a significant impact on the story. Initially, it was heartbreaking for Nam and her brother, but in the end, Hae-e found love and a sense of belonging.
The emotional letter written by Hae-e’s real mother plays a significant role in the culmination of the series. It signified a turning point in Hae-e’s life as she had previously made up her mind to move to Japan with her biological mother. However, the letter convinced Nam and Hae-e to reunite in the most loving way possible.
Moreover, the love story of Nam and Choi was a significant aspect of the series, which is why it needed the perfect ending. During the latter half of the episode, we are presented with another twist in terms of Choi’s ex, who tries to patch up things with him inside a coffee shop.

However, this sudden intrusion leads to an air of confusion between the two and ends up resolving in the cutest manner. Both Nam and Choi decide to propose to each other and fix a date for marriage. Furthermore, the moment they decided to take the next step was heartwarming and brought the story of the couple to a full circle.
The most significant aspect of the ending was Nam’s character development. She had to give up her studies and dreams to take care of Hae-e, but after her daughter’s departure for higher studies, she decided to complete her education. The story shifts two years ahead and showcases that it is never too late to pursue your dreams as she enrols herself in a college for adults.
The ending also brought about a sense of closure for the supporting characters. The competitive mothers, who were obsessed with their children’s grades, moved on from their unhealthy competition. And Nam’s best friend overtakes her side dish store with the same warmth and affection for food.
The last scene, where Nam and Choi embrace each other in a busy crowd after the latter passes her exams, steals the complete show. The way Choi celebrated Nam’s success signified that no matter what happens in life, they will always have each other.
All in all, the ending of the series did justice to the story and the characters. It brought about a sense of closure for the viewers, who had invested in the lives of the characters throughout the series. Even though at some point the story shifted more into the thriller side, the core romance did not dwindle.
