Counterstrike Ending Explained: The Mexican film ends in a bittersweet way as the special forces officers finally escape the run and chase, as the night comes to an end. But these happier moments come with a price that almost shakes up the foundation of the Murciélagos and the rules by which they abide.

The plot of the film follows an elite military team who are drawn into an unexpected mission when they are attacked on their day off. But these men are not easy to target as they make sure that no man is left behind, despite being pulled into a chaotic situation. The film follows their adventure as they make their way out of this situation.

Counterstrike Ending Explained

The plot of the film follows an elite team of soldiers known as the Murciélagos who are drawn into the chaos brought by Dámaso who is hell-bent on taking revenge on them. As Captain Guerrero and his elite soldiers face an ambush by his gang, they need to stay alive until backup forces arrive and keep running so that none of the men are left behind.

As Captain Guerrero and his elite soldiers rush into the forest and come across a place in the middle, they are shocked to find the two girls who gave them information about the mass grave inside. Meanwhile, Dámaso is right behind and catching up with the special forces soldiers, but will he be able to catch them on time?

How did the girls end up there?

After passing on the information about the mass grave to Captain Guerrero, they come under the eyes of Dámaso and his men. Later, the two girls are kidnapped and held captive in the house Captain Guerrero and his team come across where they finally get the sense of being rescued. However, safety is still far away as they all need to hold on until the backup arrives.

What is Dámaso’s plan?

Dámaso finds out that Captain Guerrero and his team are inside the house and without delay, he surrounds the place and launches a free attack on the place. There is no holding back from his side and he continues to fire at the house in order to push the team into a corner. Meanwhile, he also sends some people through a secret channel inside the house where Tanque breathes his last while running through the bullets attacking him and jumps into the tunnel with a grenade in his hand. Thus, bombing the opponents and also ending his life.

On the other hand, the girls continue to help the special forces officers by supplying ammunition and supporting them as much as possible.

How do Captain Guerrero and his team counterattack?

While Dámaso continues to launch his attack, the special forces team also doesn’t hold back and fires their own rounds at the gang. While they need to keep count of their ammunition in the process, they show their training to the fullest as they plan each attack before firing their bullets. With almost every bullet hitting its target, the team also needs to keep their defence high as every moment passes by.

What happens in the end?

Finally, the special forces are able to push Dámaso to a corner as he drops his weapons and surrenders. But this happens after Tanque’s and Polio’s deaths, the latter happening after he is shot by a bullet when trying to leave the building. With Dámaso surrendering, the team can now hold him in custody, but the pain of everything they went through and the members they lost hit them all at once. With a wish to take him down right then and there, they almost kill him.

However, Captain Guerrero takes him head-on in a physical fight where he emerges as a winner. Holding his knife against Dámaso’s neck, he too wishes to take him down right there, but he wants the man to pay for his crimes properly. With this, he decides to not kill him and takes him into custody while their backup finally arrives, ending this long night for the team.
