BTS RM trends on Twitter after bagging not one but two awards for his solo song. Earlier today, the rapper-singer was awarded under two categories at the 1st season of the KM Chart Award Ceremony for the song Wild Flower featuring Youjeen. Fans of the artist took it to the platform to celebrate the win, and “Congratulations Namjoon” quickly became one of the top trends.
The award ceremony is a collaboration between K-pop fan voting applications Idol Champ and My1Pick. The platforms are typically used to vote and support various South Korean celebrities, like solo artists, K-pop idols, boy and girl groups, K-drama actors and so on. This event is newly introduced, and various artists were nominated for various categories. Namjoon was nominated for the Best K-Music category along with many other artists, including his group mate Jungkook for the FIFA World Cup 2023 theme song Dreamers.
Additionally, Kim Namjoon also won another award for the category, Best K-Music Artist. Having been nominated with many other artists, he again shared this nomination with fellow member Jungkook. However, he defeated his group mate under both the categories and achieved the feat of winning two crowns. Devoted fans voted for the artist with dedication and showed their love for the leader of BTS.
Instantly the fans took to Twitter to congratulate him and showcase their love and support. The hashtags under his name became one of the most trending topics worldwide. The wins prove the artist’s capability as a solo artist and definitely puts him on the map.

The BTS member released his solo debut album on December 2, 2022, called Indigo, and Wild Flower serves as the total track. It comprises of additional 9 b-side tracks: Yun, Still Life, All Day, Forg_tful, Closer, Change Pt. 2, Lonely, Hectic and No.2. It also includes appearances by Erykah Badu, Anderson .Paak, Tablo of Epik High, Kim Sa-wol, Paul Blanco, Mahalia, Colde, Youjeen of Cherry Filter, and Park Ji-yoon.
The album was well-received by fans and non-fans alike. It topped music charts both domestically and internationally and was certified double platinum by the Korea Music Content Association. Approximately 700,000 copies of the record were sold domestically, and became the highest-charting album by a Korean soloist on the Billboard 200.
