Chicago Party Aunt Part 2 Ending Explained
Our Chicago Party Aunt had already impressed everyone with her handmade lotion presented as Christmas gifts last season. The sequel picks up on the same image as Gideon expresses his interest in launching a joint business with Diane. The last episode titled “Lotion Commotion” is all about them hiding out to make a show of their product, now bearing the brand name of Congeal with its logo having been designed by Daniel, at Chicago Cosmecon, all thanks to the female entrepreneur Giuliana Rancic, one of the Smelt Tank judges.
Gideon has high hopes of pandering out to the global market, but Diane feels giddy about it and wants to keep it local. Daniel is welcomed in as the Artistic Director and accompanies his aunt to Cosmecon. He later quits his job at Kreativ Jus in hopes of exploring new things. Diane gets acquainted with various conglomerates including the CEO of Walgreens, Duane Reade, as he discusses the possibility of foraying into cosmetics. All that’s left for them to do is impress everyone with their showcase.
Daniel is pushed to speak alone at the Artistic Directors’ panel and when it’s his turn to voice their agenda, he freezes up and is helped by a fellow company’s director present at the spot. Meanwhile, his parents, Bonnie and Mark are struggling to make ends meet with the latter having gone bankrupt. Bonnie’s new gig as an event planner doesn’t pay enough to keep the entire afloat, so they finalise on putting up their condo up for sale. Bonnie fails to relay the information to her sister due to her tight schedule with Congeal’s launch, and the couple completes the deed without seeking her discretion.
Mark quits driving cabs, while Bonnie, who’d arrived at Cosmecon as an event planner, is mistaken as a model and is deeply humiliated by the staff involved. While she puts up with it initially because she’s never given a chance to speak up, she shuns them aside eventually and moves out.

Gideon had advised Diane to steer clear of the open bar at Cosmecon as a means to avoid riling up a career hazard for themselves, but she marches away with her usual “you’re not the boss of me” and downs one too many glasses of alcohol. And as Gideon had foreseen, she doesn’t end up making a scene, that too in front of the CEO of Walgreens. Her partner has to clean up the mess created by her while she’s still out of control. They engage in a severely heated argument, which ends with Diane leaving the premises. Out she goes into the cold night, and despite a new dawn she’s still missing.

Her business partner tries his all to find her, but with her phone not reachable, he’s got no choice but to prepare for the presentation all alone. Diane, on the other hand, is found lying hammered beside what looks like a river. As a bird flies away with her almost discharged phone next to her, a figure approaches her. Out of all the people in the world, the one reaching out his hand to help her turns out to be the former U.S. President himself, Barack Obama.
He boosts up her morale and after a long talk she asks him for a ride back to Cosmecon, where Gideon has already gone on stage to present their product to the audience. His social and stage skills are not nearly as laid back as hers and starts sweating while some among the audience walk away. Walking in as the daring queen she is, Diane saves the day and pulls back the others who’d walked away by her unique drive to always stay in the spotlight.
After slightly traumatising the audience with her performance, though backed by Gideon, their presentation reaches a close. While the Walgreens CEO no longer hopes to join hands with them, Gideon gets a call from Borough about funding their project and raising their profits.

To celebrate the success, Diane organises a final party at her place. Meanwhile, Bonnie and Mark arrive at the place, all tensed up after having sold the condo. They convey the news to Diane, and she acts all flabbergasted only to reveal that she’d been the buyer all along. So, with all of their issues resolved, there’s no problem in sight. Daniel adds the icing on the cake by thanking Diane for everything and for helping him break out of his shell, but he voices his epiphany that he needs to network with people of his own age now, which leads him to the final announcement of him going to college.
However, he’s not parting his ways with his aunt just yet, because he plans on attending DePaul, which is only 11 blocks away from their residence. Moreover, he puts his parent’s stress to ease as well by claiming that he’d been paying for the tuition with the money from the Congeal buyout. The finale concludes with the party still going on because the party fever never goes out when Diane is in charge.
Will There Be a Chicago Party Aunty Season 3?
All 16 episodes, combining the former 8 of the first season (September 17, 2021) and the remaining latter of the second instalment (December 2022), were ordered right away by Netflix early on. Thus, both Part 1 and Part 2 had been confirmed together as a full deal, but there’s been no buzz in the air about another season i.e. Part 3 yet. The show’s creators haven’t spoken about the renewal either yet. If any update surfaces in the meantime, we will surely report the same to you.
Chicago Party Aunt Part 2 is now streaming on Netflix.
