Cheekatilo Ending Explained
The series opens with a string of sexual crimes against women taking place in different parts of the state and introduces us to Sandhya, a fierce journalist who doesn’t believe in sensationalism and upholding journalistic integrity. However, the channel she works for has other ideas and refuses to let her simply tell the story as is, and instead, makes it as juicy as possible for the viewers.
She eventually quits as a result and starts her own podcast when her colleague and friend is brutally murdered with her boyfriend in her flat, presumably in the middle of their intimate moment. Heartbroken and determined to see the truth, she starts to investigate, eventually getting the help of the police officer in charge of the case.
Through her interviews and investigations, she tracks a huge cover-up and how these crimes were never dealt with or reported.
Who is the murderer? What was their motive?
After her to-be mother-in-law is murdered, Sandhya figures out that it’s her to-be father-in-law who is the perpetrator. He eventually tells her that he was abused by his aunt as a teenager, who was a dancer and wore jasmine in her hair. From there, he developed this hatred for women who had the same qualities and killed them to vent his frustrations against his aunt. He never overcame the trauma and continued to exact revenge, even though he had killed his brother and aunt long ago for what they had done to him.
What happens in the end?
In the end, Sandhya’s father-in-law was sent to prison while she acknowledged that her fiancé isn’t to blame for his father’s mistakes, and the two continue to plan their wedding. Meanwhile, she also continues on her journalistic journey to uncover the truth with integrity and honesty.
