Castaway Diva Episode 5 Recap
Castaway Diva episode 5 begins with Mok-ha making her way to the station while Bong-wan follows her from the company to her destination. He then approaches her when a hooded man arrives and takes her away to escape Bong-wan. Later, Mok-ha finds out that it is Bo-geol who has arrived at her rescue and is scolded by him for publishing her search for Ki-ho which leads to this situation.
Mok-ha is unable to contain it anymore thus, showing her desperation through her voice and tears, she lets him know how important Ki-ho is to her. Bo-geol is stunned by her outburst and understands her desperation; he tells her that Ki-ho is probably safe and in hiding which is why Bong-wan is still looking for him.
Mok-ha is surprised by this but also happy to know that Ki-ho’s probability of being alive is higher now that she has heard Bo-geol’s words. The two then head home while Woo-hak arrives at the station and sees Bong-wan who is similar to the man who appeared in his memories earlier that day.

He finds out that Mok-ha is on her way home and chooses to follow Bong-wan and find out more about him. Woo-hak follows Bong-wan to his house and believes that the man is his father while he is Ki-ho. This makes him feel guilty towards Mok-ha and upon returning, he once again asks her why she doesn’t blame Ki-ho.
Mok-ha tells him that it was her choice to begin with and Ki-ho gave him her support when she made the decision. She then notices his tears and understands that something is wrong, thus, lending him a shoulder to cry on. Later, Woo-hak thanks Bo-geol for saving Mok-ha and tells him that they should report Bong-wan’s actions as stalking.
Bo-geol is against the idea as Bong-wan can easily get away with this, instead, they should make sure that Mok-ha is kept safe from the dangers. The next day, Woo-hak adds his and his parents’ numbers as Mok-ha’s emergency contacts and tells her how to reach out to them in times of trouble.
Later, Mok-ha gets her driving licence and shows it to Park Yong-kwan who hands over the keys of the van meant for Ran-joo. However, she soon finds out that all of Ran-joo’s albums have been taken out of the market which angers her into rushing to Seo-jun. Yong-kwan tries to stop her but when he is left with no choice he shows her a video of her sneaking a mic and uses it to blackmail her.
Meanwhile, Ran-joo meets her previous company’s CEO Hwang Byung-gak to ask him to re-release her albums from the time when she was in his company. He doesn’t instantly reply to her request and instead tells her to come sing at his daughter’s wedding the next day, leaving her angered and desperate.

Later, she takes her anger out on Mok-ha and leaves her behind to collect the torn wedding invitation. Mok-ha is saddened by her anger and while she assures him that she is alright, Bo-geol knows that she is not. Ran-joo realises her mistake later in a sauna and wants to text Mok-ha back but is unable to.
Elsewhere, Mok-ha tapes the invitation back and decides to go there the next day. Early in the morning, she asks Bo-geol’s mother Song Ha-jung for formal wear and heads to the wedding. Bo-geol sees this and takes her there, letting her know that he will be attending the wedding with her. Meanwhile, Woo-hak continues to follow Bong-wan and makes note of his schedule.
Mok-ha and Bo-geol reach the wedding venue where they see Seo-jun arrive with a flower bouquet and understand that he is trying to get Byung-gak on his side. Mok-ha is once again fueled with anger and gets a flower bouquet with Ran-joo’s name to stand next to Seo-jun’s. She then catches a glimpse of Byung-gak and seems to remember him from somewhere.
Meanwhile, Ran-joo tries to sing in a Karaoke room but is unable to go through a song when she gets Mok-ha’s call asking her to come to the wedding. Mok-ha tells her about how she became Ran-joo’s fan at the age of five when she saw her singing in school. Ran-joo recalls how Byung-gak, who was her music teacher at that time, quit his job to make her a star only to be betrayed by her when she did not renew her contract with him.

Mok-ha motivates her to put on her make-up like armour and come to the wedding, promising to always protect her. She tells Ran-joo that she will accompany her on stage and sing along with her, taking care of her whenever she is unable to hit any note. Ran-joo is finally able to get back on her feet and arrives at the wedding on time.
Castaway Diva Episode 5 Ending
Ran-joo performs with Mok-ha by her side and the two give everyone present a beautiful performance. She later makes up with Byung-gak and thanks Mok-ha for bringing her to the wedding. Later, the two leave when Bo-geol arrives to ask if they spoke to Byung-gak about the matter they came for.

The two are stunned, having forgotten the real matter while elsewhere, Seo-jun shreds the contract he had approached Byung-gak with before the wedding. Byung-gak had rejected his offer long before Ran-joo’s arrival; now Seo-jun is left with no choice but to bring his most popular singer Mo-rae to battle against Ran-joo, who is finally back in Seoul.
Later, Woo-hak makes an excuse to leave which makes Bo-geol suspicious. Woo-hak meets Mok-ha while leaving and tells her that Ki-ho is surely alive and that he may have a way to find him. Mok-ha rejoiced at this and thanked him for the news that he had given to her. On the other hand, Bong-wan causes Ki-ho’s friend Han Dae-woong to have an accident when he asks him to stop looking for Ki-ho.
Woo-hak makes his way to Bong-wan’s house and enters the place which is bringing flashbacks; however, the real surprise comes to him when he sees a picture of himself along with Bo-geol and Song Ha-jung. Right then, Bo-geol arrives and asks him to leave when Woo-hak asks if he knows that Bong-wan is their father.
On the other hand, Mok-ha hears a familiar phrase from Ha-jung and asks if she heard it from somewhere. Ha-jung tells her that she made this phrase which makes Mok-ha suspicious. Unable to let go of this, she finally asks Ha-jung if she knows a boy named Ki-ho.

Castaway Diva Episode 5 Review
Another episode that leaves us wondering about Ki-ho while we see hope in Ran-joo’s career which is welcoming a new challenge. Mok-ha is truly in for attacks from all sides and it leaves me wondering if she would have to choose between Ran-joo and Ki-ho someday. Hopefully, fate is not that hard on her and things go smoothly for her because she has already been through way too much for all this.
Meanwhile, it looks like we are getting a clearer view of who Ki-ho could be, and I’m placing my bets on Bo-geol because he knows way too much about Mok-ha. On the other hand, the Kang brothers have a truly messed up past and Bong-wan is surely going to mess up their future soon enough.
Altogether, the plot is only getting better and with us reaching halfway through the show tomorrow, we can expect bigger twists and turns hereon.
