In the King’s palace, news surfaces about a spy captured in the Qing dynasty, and the blame is cast upon Grand Prince Lee In. The King, aware of his role in sending the spy, refrains from revealing the truth and allows the ministers to identify the culprit. The Minister of War, receiving information implicating Lee In, readily believes it. Lee In’s master, who orchestrated the spy mission, appeals to the King to act as an envoy seeking forgiveness from the Qing dynasty, and the King agrees.

The Minister uses this opportunity for personal vendetta, arresting Baduk players and the comfort woman. Learning of the impending torture, Hee-soo disguises herself and arrives. Myung-ha, concerned for her safety, tries to prevent her involvement. Just in time, Grand Prince Lee In intervenes, offering himself for interrogation.

He proceeds to the King’s chamber, and a heated argument ensues. The King, acting selfishly, refuses to acknowledge the truth despite Lee In’s awareness. In the midst of their confrontation, Lee In seizes the King’s sword, placing it near the King’s neck to halt his attacks.
