The series was really good. Though the main leads chemistry could have been better, it’s a period piece so expecting such intense romance is not ideal. The storyline, the cinematography, the dialogues and the cast were all equally great. Most importantly, there weren’t any extra storylines which felt half-baked. Every character had their endgame and it made the series feel whole. Overall, it’s a great watch to learn about a King’s sacrifices and the love between a royal person and a citizen with charm.

  1. He Soo wasn’t leaving to return to Wing but to travel & wander leaving the direction open when questioned… it’s a bit strange that she was going to leave without ever reuniting with the king, but then, pausing to rest on the trail the king, secretly informed of her route meets her with a basic board to play a game & perhaps win & finally learn her real name which she tells even before the results of the end of the game …& the king gives her a kiss & declares he will never be apart from her again…she willingly submits… perhaps the reason for her not wanting the king to know of her return & decision to leave for open-ended solo travel was to open space for the king to choose a second queen ..

  2. Do they plan on a second season? The ending left me hanging? Can’t she return as Hee soo and marry the King? Wasn’t her dad someone important?
