Hwal continues to be very salty in Bulgasal episode 8 and tells Sang-un how he has no interest to stay alive, no interest to eat since he cannot taste anything and is not interested to hear of Sang-un’s desires since that’s just her way of gaining sympathy – and that won’t work on him! Either way, Sang-un’s honesty and sincerity can cut through even the toughest of hearts, except that of Hwal, of course.

Anyway, after they go home in Bulgasal episode 8, they are all a bit shocked with Hye-suk makes a shocking prophecy regarding Sang-un. That the latter will tear into everyone’s throats when she remembers everything and everyone will die like how they did before. Before they can come to realise what the heck just happened, Ho-yeol comes to their house, leaving Hwal annoyed with his solo investigation.

Either way, that night is all about knowing secrets and dreaming horrible things. The next day isn’t different for Hwal at least, where he goes to meet his father from 600 years ago who hasn’t really changed one bit, even now. He gives him a pep talk and then walks off dramatically. Back at home, he takes out that frustration on Sang-un and tells him that he doesn’t want to forget that she was Bulgasal in their past life who destroyed people’s lives.

As Sang-un goes to check out something alone, Eul-tae rolls out to meet Hwal and remind him of what happened 600 years ago. However, Ho-yeol follows him and falls right into his trap. Sang-un goes to talk to Go-bun to learn more about Kim Hwa-yeon. It is here that she learns that Eul-tae was the one who killed Hwal’s family and made it look like it was her fault.

However, this is not even the strangest part of the day. Eul-tae has taken Ho-yeol hostage and has asked for Hwal, not Sang-un. Well, not Eul-tae, the man has some standards. Either way, Ho-yeol gets to know some shocking truths and runs off while Eul-tae asks for Hwal’s help. However, Sang-un gets there right on time and tells Hwal that Eul-tae had killed his family, not her. Confusion ensues as Hwal is now wondering whom to trust.

Bulgasal’s next episode will have Hwal getting to know who Do-yun really is. The fallout is anyone’s guess. Also, Eul-tae is going to use him to get Sang-un to him. This episode was pretty interesting. With everyone’s stories coming together and weaving really well. Now I am confused whether Sang-un was the good guy in her previous life and I wonder what her relationship with Eul-tae is. Either way, I am hoping the series is going to pick up some serious steam after this now that more backstabbing and secrets are underway.
