The BTS boys are shinning, once again! The release of 7 Fates: CHAKHO and, its original soundtrack has the audiences hooked. In fact, the soundtrack has even gone on to make accomplishments of its own in the world of music. The band’s original webtoon and web novel is a futuristic urban fantasy that is inspired by Joseon Dynasty’s tiger-hunting officers called chakhogapsa. The story is about seven boys who are connected by fate, battle hardships together and grow up in the process.
On February 11, a new was released in the webtoon’s OST by Jungkook titled Stay Alive and, was produced by Suga. It only took the song three hours to soared up to the top of iTunes top song charts in 51 regions of the world. After setting multiple records on the international iTunes charts, the song became the fastest piece by any Korean solo artist in history reaching the No. 1 mark on iTunes Top Songs charts in 80 different regions. It also swept the No. 1 position on iTunes Top Songs in the world’s eight biggest music markets and, later became the No. 1 track in a total of 93 different regions, all in the span of 24 hours.
Along with the above, the song has made its own historic record on Spotify. Stay Alive racked up a significant 4,273,772 number of streams on the first day of its release, making it achieve the highest number of first-day streams for any song released by a Korean soloist on the streaming platform. Along with that, the song has also set a new record for Korean soloists by getting itself a place in Spotify’s daily Global Top 50 chart at No. 3.
