Korean pop music has been gaining so much traction that the world is finally catching up to its talents. For BTS Jimin, it means that he can make solo music appear on the Billboard 100 charts and even create history. The artist was recently added to the Guinness World Records after receiving the stats from Spotify. He has become a torchbearer for all future K-pop artists trying to make it big on the global charts. What is fascinating is that he broke his own bandmate Jungkook’s record for the same.
Jimin most recently released solo music after multiple members of the band BTS started their mandatory military training and enlistment. However, his time with the band confirmed that millions of people would be tuning in for his solo comeback. It wasn’t just millions of people, though. The artist garnered over a billion streams on Spotify in 393 days, making him the fastest K-pop male solo artist to reach that milestone. According to the website, he reached a billion streams on May 22, 2023, and Guinness soon added it to their records.

The artist has been making solo music since 2018 with his single Promise. However, this time, the production, marketing and all the visual collaterals for his comeback were of such high quality that it would be impossible for him not to reach the heights he has reached. His mini-album titled FACE has six songs, including, Face-Off, Interlude: Dive, Like Crazy, Alone, Set Me Free Pt. 2 and Like Crazy (English Version). Among all of these songs, Like Crazy was his lead single, with a music video that truly touched hearts.
However, he is not the only one delving into the realm of solo music. Most recently, J-Hope and Agust D (more popularly known as Suga) have also started to expand their range to include more of their individuality. With the former’s most recently released mini-album titled Jack in the Box, the artist was also given the opportunity to helm a Disney+ documentary titled J-Hope in the Box. It topped charts on the streaming platform and was trending for hours.
Similarly, Agust D was also given the opportunity to explore different cities in his Disney+ documentary. This artist also released his mini-album titled D-DAY. The streaming platform chose to make his documentary SUGA: Road To D-Day, following him around different cities as he does performances and takes in the vibes of the place he’s living in. Given the popularity of this band, Taehyung from the band was also recently at Cannes Film Festival for a private dinner with the ambassadors for the brand CELINE.
