In the world of Korean Pop, BTS or Bang Tang Sonyeondan reigns supreme, which is why it was bittersweet when one of the members of the band, Jin (Kim Seok-Jin) took a hiatus from music to join the military on December 13, 2022. JHope has now shared something with his fans which is a like a New Year’s gift.
About two weeks later, BTS’ JHope shared how Jin called from the military camp using the public pay phone as boot camp trainees in the military aren’t allowed to use their cell phones however they are allowed to use the pay phone at designated times and days. Just before J-Hope went to bed on the night of new years eve, Jin called him.
Sharing the interaction, he said, “Jin called me yesterday, on [the] 31st, right before I went to sleep.” Mimicking his fellow bandmate, the singer explained how there was a misunderstanding because JHope didn’t know the pay phone number.
So when Jin asked, “Why don’t you answer my phone?” the member explained the situation.
The BTS rapper then shared how good it was to listen to his friend’s voice, “I felt so comforted when I got to hear his voice. It reminded me of moments I shared with Jin Hyung. [It] was really nice (talking to him). He seems to be doing well and staying healthy. If I may give you an update on his behalf, he sounded well and is also doing well. That’s how I feel. So, don’t worry.”
This news managed to relieve not just the BTS member but also the thousands of people who watched the video, many sharing how exciting it was that JHope knows exactly how to mimic Jin while others are grateful to the band member for this interaction in the first place. Fans have dubbed the duo as ‘2seok’ owing to their first names being Seok and both having descended from the Hyung line. There are many videos on the official BANGTANTV channel highlighting their friendship. The duo have one of the closest relationships in the band, with JHope and Jin engaging in shenanigans like becoming unofficial photographers, playing with earrings, giving each other massages and many others.

Meanwhile, in a video shared by the BANGTANTV channel, members of the band are seen teasing Jin about his buzz cut, and members of the band even commented on his good looks even after wearing the mask and getting his hair cut so short. In the end, the members gathered to take a commemorative picture of the same.
