Boys Planet’s ZEROBASEONE (제로베이스원), or ZB1, has become the latest sensation in the K-pop world. Boys Planet (보이즈 플래닛) is a reality show produced by Mnet where thousands of applicants participate to become the next K-pop star. Out of the many applications, only 98 are selected and dived into two groups: K-Group and G-Group, where the contestants have to compete in the cut-throat competition to reign supreme.
In the finale episode of the show, on April 20, 2023, the final 9 selected trainees who succeeded Kep1er were announced during the live broadcast.
Boys Planet’s ZEROBASEONE Members
Let us meet the members of the newest boy band announced during the Boys Planet Finale.
Zhang Hao
Hao is a Chinese trainee who grabbed the first position in the competition. Born on July 25, 2000, he is an amazing performer and singer. It is speculated that he will be the centre of the group. Additionally, he will receive a solo song on the first debut album of the group.
Sung Han-bin
Sung Hanbin took the second position in the competition and took his much-deserved place in the group. It is expected that he will be part of the dance-up of the group.
Seok Matthew
Taking up the third place is Matthew, who gained extreme popularity due to his breathtaking visuals and fun personality. Born on May 28, he is fluent in English, Korean and French.
Ricky
Ricky takes up the fourth place in the competition and hails from Shanghai, China. He has showcased his talents in singing and dancing, and rapping and is expected to join the rap line of the group.
Park Gunwook
Gunwook grabs the fifth position and becomes a part of the group. However, it is not the first time of him participating in a survival show, he previously competed in Extreme Debut: Wild Idol.
Kim Taerae
Taerae takes up the sixth position and is most popular for his mesmerising vocal skills. It is expected that he will be positioned as the main vocal of the group.
Kim Gyuvin
Taking up the event position is Gyuvin, who showcased his impressive talent in dancing. It is possible that he will be positioned in the dance line of the group; however, it has not been announced yet.
Kim Jiwoong
Taking up the eighth place is Jiwoong, who has one of the longest training periods. He has previously appeared in K-dramas like Kissable Lips and Roommates of Poongduck 304, etc.
Han Yujin
ZEROBASEONE Debut Date
Following the end of the competition, the official debut date of the group has not been announced yet. However, Mnet confirms that they will be debuting this year. Tentatively, the boy group might release a single or an album in the second half of 2023.
ZEROBASEONE Upcoming Schedules
The group continues to maintain their relationship with global fans and has taken a step further. Mnet has confirmed that the newly formed group will be performing at KCON JAPAN 2023 on May 13 and 14. The upcoming schedule will raise their popularity among the people and help their global fanbase grow exponentially.
