Black Salt Dragon Kdrama: Moon Ga-young, Choi Hyun-wook and Others Confirmed to Lead the Upcoming 2025 tvN Romantic Series

Today, on July 15, tvN has officially announced the stellar cast lineup for its highly anticipated romantic series, Black Salt Dragon Kdrama. Following months of speculation, tvN confirmed that Moon Ga-young and Choi Hyun-wook will lead the ensemble, joined by Im Se-mi and Kwak Si-yang. Scheduled for release in early 2025, the series 그놈은 흑염룡 is adapted from a popular webtoonvy the same name and is directed by Lee Soo-hyun. This kdrama promises to captivate audiences with its intriguing storyline.

Black Salt Dragon revolves around the love story of two individuals who first encounter each other through their online gaming avatars during their school days. Sixteen years later, they reunite in real life under vastly different circumstances — as boss and employee.

Ga-young and Hyun-wook will be appearing together as a couple for the first time, bring a wealth of experience and charisma to their roles. Ga-young, renowned for her memorable performances in dramas like True Beauty, Tempted and many morehas established herself as a beloved figure among viewers. Meanwhile, Hyun-wook has garnered acclaim for his versatile acting in dramas such as Twinkling Watermelon, Weak Hero Class 1, Twenty-Five Twenty-One and others, showcasing his ability to portray diverse characters with depth and authenticity.

A notable reunion awaits fans as Se-mi joins the cast, reuniting with Ga-young after their previous collaboration in True Beauty. Se-mi will portray Seo Ha-jin, a spirited pub owner known for her adventurous spirit and spontaneous decisions. Her character forms a unique bond with Ga-young’s Baek Soo-jung, stemming from their initial connection in the virtual world.

Adding depth to the ensemble, Si-yang takes on the role of Kim Shin-won, the compassionate head of the design department at Yongsung Department Store. His character undergoes a transformative journey of discovering true love upon meeting Seo Ha-jin, setting the stage for emotional and heartfelt interactions within the narrative.

Black Salt Dragon marks a significant project for tvN, blending romance with elements of nostalgia and personal growth. Scheduled to premiere in the first half of 2025, the series aims to resonate with audiences through its compelling storyline and dynamic performances from its esteemed cast.
