Black Butterflies (Les Papillons Noirs) is an upcoming French thriller series, releasing on Netflix this week. The series is created and written by Bruno Merle and Olivier Abbou and produced by ARTE, Myriam Gharbi-de Vasselot and Julien Dewolf. It will unfold its intriguing narration in six episodes.
The series will follow a ghostwriter, who is hired for a job which will change his perspective and life, with what is about to be told to him by his employer. It has been already released on local channels weekly in September and will be available on Netflix globally soon.

Black Butterflies Plot/Synopsis
The official synopsis of the series reads, “Low on the inspiration for his second book, a gloomy novelist agrees to write a memoir for a dying man — and swiftly becomes part of his bloodstained past.” Adrien Winckler is a struggling novelist who works as a ghostwriter to make ends meet.
At the dusk of his life, Albert Desiderio, a humble retired man, decides to hire Adrien to write his memoirs. But the amazing love story Albert shared with Solange during the 70s turned out to be the confession of a serial killer couple. Between fascination and repulsion, Adrien must face the facts – this novel has everything to be good, so why not make it his own? But the writer discovers that Albert did not choose him by chance.
