ENHYPEN members have been thoroughly living out bloodthirsty vampire dreams since the beginning of their music journey; the Bite Me MV teaser has again pushed for the same agenda, fleshing out a dark concept for their upcoming comeback. Releasing this month, the K-pop boy group’s 4th mini album Dark Blood is to be led by the aforementioned track.
On May 19, 2023 (KST), the first official teaser video of the title track’s MV was released by HYBE Labels. Having been formed by Belift Lab, a joint venture between HYBE Corporation and CJ ENM, ENHYPEN consists of 7 members – Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, Jungwon, and Ni-ki – all of who have been sporting the vampire look for a long time in their music videos.

The new teaser takes a close look at the victorian mythical creatures as played by each member of the group. Donning attires decked by white pearls, the group also keeps the visual aesthetics of the dark musical concept intact. Some visuals of blood drops and an eclipse further push for the eerie theme foregrounded vastly by red tones.
Hints of the soon-to-release song are merely sprinkled at the end of the video. All of which is then followed by a haunting piece of text on the screen that concludes the video – “You and I are connected through blood/ This mark on the neck is a sign of our destiny/ I am willing to give up my trifling power and eternity to you as long as I can protect you/ I will gladly accept the destiny I choose”.
These words further highlight the fantastical route adopted by their overall storytelling journey. Dark Blood is likely to revolve around a boy who meets the one he’s destined to be with. However, his fate exacts some sacrifices out of him. “Trifling power” and “eternity” can be directly associated with the image of the group members posing as mythical creatures.
These words could either simply be an epigraph setting the tone for the MV and the song alike, or they can even be its lyrics. All shall be revealed in time when the actual music video premieres. Other than the title track, the forthcoming album includes 5 more songs – Fate, Sacrifice (Eat Me Up), Chaconne, Bills and Karma, each of which, when interconnected, narrate different chapters of the same story.
