Bitch x Rich Season 2 Episode 8 Recap

The episode opens with Hye-in getting the fateful text from Yul-hee, which leaves her distraught. She goes to her house in a last-ditch effort, but there’s very little she can do. In other news, however, Baek Je-na is back to her old shenanigans after she is clear of all allegations, but is surprised to see Hye-in missing from class. She does reach out to her, but Hye-in doesn’t reply. At school, she plots with Jin-wook about next steps and plans for a way for both Yul-hee and Min-hee to disappear.

Hae-in, meanwhile, meets Do-un and expresses distress, mentioning that she wants to end this game. She thanks him for his help and reveals that Yul-hee was the one who pushed her off the building. The revelation leaves him slack-jawed.

With happiness surrounding Je-na, the families decide to hold the engagement on the day of the school’s 30th anniversary, and both of them look extremely pleased. Elsewhere, Yul-hee, who is now under a lot of fire, gets even more frustrated when Woo-jin tells her about the Black Dog incident. Yul-hee is completely annoyed with him and tells him that she wants to break up. However, the problems aren’t over yet – Black Dog releases the exposé that the fall incident’s culprit is someone in Diamond 6, implicating Woo-jin and Yul-hee.

With nothing left to lose, Yul-hee goes through the security footage and finds Hye-in going to the basement during the time Black Dog asked Woo-jin to meet. Hye-in confronts Yul-hee about Si-eun’s phone, but is herself left shocked when she brings up the security footage. When Hye-in doesn’t back down, Yul-hee tells her to confess that Je-na pushed Hae-in; otherwise, she will send her video to Hye-in’s father.

With the clock ticking, Hye-in is now forced to decide while Je-na refuses to be a pawn in Jin-wook’s game after she realises that he’s Balck Dog. However, he does mention that he will overturn the chessboard if she forces his hand.

Hye-in, later, goes to meet Je-na and mentions that maybe staying in Diamond 6 isn’t the best idea for her. She walks off before she can comment and runs into Hae-in, who has been terribly abused by Woo-jin and is a bloody mess. She begs for her help to get Yul-hee and Woo-jin to pay for their crimes, but Hye-in tearfully informs her that she doesn’t have the necklace anymore. Frustrated and hopeless, she tells her to remember this moment as being her fault and before she can react, Hae-in walks into traffic and ends her life.

Bitch x Rich Season 2 Episode 8: Lee Eun-saem

With two more episodes to go, I don’t know where this drama is going and how they will end it in one hour. However, episode 8 is explosive and opens the series up for many shocking moments. The question is whether or not it can bring those threads together and create something interesting and cohesive. I am looking forward to next week, but I will rebel if this doesn’t get a satisfying ending.

I am also a little confused about the point of Hae-in’s character. The makers literally do nothing with the amnesia plot! The character was introduced this season with the promise that it would be super shocking or something, but it just turns out to be more of the same. I am quite disappointed with Hae-in’s end. Feels very repetitive in a way.
