The Billboard Music Awards 2022 is in full swing and, some known, as well as unknown winners, have emerged to make headlines this year. Held on May 15, 2022, the event was hosted at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas by Sean “Diddy” Combs and Robert Deaton and, aired live on NBC. The ceremony is for honours given out by Billboard, a publication covering the music business and a music popularity chart, annually.
This year the Billboard Music Awards was witness to a lot of historic and iconic moments. From Drake extending his record as the most-awarded artist in BBMA history to Travis Scott making his first public appearance since the Astroworld tragedy, the event was something to look at and remember. Adding their name to these historic moments is none other than everyone’s favourite boyband BTS. The septet was the most-nominated duo/group with six nominations, so it came as no surprise when they swept away three out of six awards.
The South Korean boyband won the awards for Top Duo/Group, Top Song Sales Artist, and Top Selling Song for their fan favourite song Butter. With all these wins, this happens to be the second year in a row where BTS has won these three awards.
