Neeru Bajwa, Rubina Bajwa, Roshan Prince, and Raghveet Boli play the key characters in the film, which was produced by Neeru Bajwa Entertainment, Omjee Star Studios, and Sarin Productions.

Beautiful Billo is a comedy-drama film with a British setting, directed by Santosh Subhash Thite and Amrit Raj Chadha. The plot centres on an emotional connection between a couple, portrayed by Rubina Bajwa and Roshan Prince, and their chance encounters with a pregnant lady, played by Neeru Bajwa. When Neeru becomes the family’s third wheel, and the families become entangled, the plot builds. The movie will uniquely depict the lives of three people with a lot of drama, humor, and joy.

The movie starts when a pregnant woman named “Billo” flies to the United Kingdom to ensure that her child receives an education from an English medium institution. Here she comes across a family whose elder members let her into their home and welcome her, but somehow she becomes a barrier between a couple played by Roshan Prince and Neeru Bajwa’s younger sister Rubina. The couple tries to make things work even with the intervention of a third wheel in their relationship, and the story unfolds with a lot of drama, humour, and emotions.

Beautiful Billo

The Bajwa sisters have never worked together before; this is their debut project. Roshan Prince, Raghveer Boli, Rupinder Rupi, Jatinder Kaur, Baninder Bunny, Honey Mattu, and several more actors are also featured in the movie. The movie has pretty much all the elements of love, laughter, drama, emotions, and music. Towards the end, we see a drastic change in the element of the movie as it brings out the emotional and sentimental theme related to a pregnant woman trying to do the best for her soon-to-be-born child.

The characters are beautifully written with amazing dialogue delivery, especially the most engaging character in the movie, the grandmother, who brings out big laughs in the audience. Since the two actresses (Neeru and Rubina) are sisters in real life, their fight in the movie seems even more realistic and is, in fact, hilarious. Additionally, the older lead cast members Roopinder Rupi and Sukhwinder Chahal engage in some cute flirting in the subplot, which is guaranteed to make you grin.

Beautiful Billo: Final Thoughts

Beautiful Billo

The movie does strike a chord with the unique and emotional plot, but there were some drawbacks seen throughout the entirety of the movie’s run time. Punjabi movies are famous for their exceptional humour, but the movie lacked in that segment. The comedy in the movie was very mid and sometimes did not feel natural.

Even though Neeru Bajwa is a very experienced actress in the Punjabi industry, her sister Rubina has to work a little on her expressing skills. Overall the movie was enjoyable, but it was only a one-time watch as compared to other Punjabi movies that you can watch on repeat for hours on end. It was shot beautifully in the United Kingdom, and the music was spot on too.

Beautiful Billo is streaming on Zee5.
