The song starts off with a crashed car and an injured couple. And before we can jump to any conclusion, the video takes its course and boils down to the reason for the accident.

It backtracks the series of events that led to the fatal doom. Much similar to Coldplay’s The Scientist music video, we soon know the common element responsible for accidents – Love.

The lyrics act as a narration of the events where the band sings out the limits of love and how far one should go for them, which perfectly blends with the visuals.

Lyrics from Bad Omens Music Video

So this is where I am
Hanging on a feeling
Driving through the valley just to chase the pain again
So this is where we are
I should’ve seen it coming
Every time you say goodbye, I say hello again

The song follows the car journey of the couple as red flags completely surround them. Soon, they start to quarrel with each other and go ’round again. Moreover, the fabric completely surrounds them at one point and encapsulates the couple.

Ultimately the reason behind the crash is revealed as the car gets off a cliff. Leaving them right where the story started, which is in the abyss of love.

The song is high in spirits and gets the beat spot on. The sharp rise and fall in the sequences jams well and feels like a trademark of the band.

The band took to Instagram to praise the director and the acting duo. They said, “We are really proud to have worked with Ukrainian directors Danny Mitri and Alyona Shchasnaia to shoot the video for ‘Bad Omens”. Furthermore, this was the first music video to be shot in Ukraine after the war, and the band expressed their gratitude for the same.
