American Music Awards 50th Anniversary Special: Star-Studded Lineup Featuring Mariah Carey, Stray Kids and More

The American Music Awards (AMAs) are gearing up for a milestone celebration, marking their 50th anniversary with an unforgettable lineup of performances and special appearances. Set to air on Sunday, October 6, from 8-10 p.m. ET (5-7 p.m. PT) on CBS and streaming on Paramount+, this two-hour broadcast promises to bring together some of the biggest names in music for a spectacular night of entertainment.

The star-studded performance lineup includes a diverse range of artists, highlighting the rich musical heritage the AMAs have celebrated over the decades. Country music star Brad Paisley and soulful legends Chaka Khan and Gladys Knight will bring their signature sounds to the stage, blending classic hits with fresh energy. Rock icons Green Day are set to electrify the audience with their high-energy performance, while Jennifer Hudson will deliver another show-stopping moment with her powerful voice.

The highly-anticipated performance by Stray Kids, one of the top K-pop groups today, adds an international flair to the evening, appealing to their global fanbase and showcasing the AMAs’ continued recognition of music’s evolving landscape.

In addition to this eclectic mix of performers, the night will also feature appearances from notable figures in the AMA’s storied history. Carrie Underwood, a 17-time AMA winner, will make a special appearance, alongside past AMA hosts and performers like Gloria Estefan and Jennifer Lopez, ensuring a night full of nostalgia and celebration. Comedian Jimmy Kimmel, who hosted the AMAs five times between 2003 and 2008, is also set to make a return with a special appearance.
