American Horror Story Delicate Episode 2 Review: The second episode of the horror franchise’s latest season is now out! The episode is titled ‘Rockabye’ and is directed by Jennifer Lynch with writer Halley Feiffer.
American Horror Story Delicate is based on Danielle Valentine’s book Delicate Condition. The series is created by AHS’ very own Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. 20th Century Fox Television produces it for FX on Hulu.
The cast for the series includes old faces and new ones too. Emma Roberts is an oldie in the AHS universe who is loved by everyone and is set to headline this season. We also have Billie Lourd, Denis O’Hare and Leslie Grossman as cast members. This season’s notable newcomers include Kim Kardashian, Cara Delevingne, Matt Czuchry and Michaela Jaé Rodriguez. The recurring cast members are Annabelle Dexter-Jones, Odessa A’zion, Julie White, Debra Monk, Dominic Burgess, and Zachary Quinto.

American Horror Story Delicate Episode 2 Review
The second episode of American Horror Story Delicate Part 1 is rather an unsettling affair. Not only because ambivalently things proceed but also because of the constant shift in the tone and storyline with a stagnant eerieness in the backdrop.
American Horror Story Delicate Episode 2 deals with the aftermath of what happened in the pilot. We have Anna after the completion of her embryo transplant and attacked by someone in her own apartment. The episode begins with the police being present at the famous star’s apartment interviewing her and the husband, Dex about what went down. On checking the security cameras, there turns out to be no one but only Dex leaving and entering the building during the timeline of the attack.
Anna is convinced now that she has a stalker. When she visits her office, Siobhan and the staff greet her with a nomination at the Gotham awards but, nothing can take Anna’s mind off the incident at her home, the mysterious Ms. Preecher and the fear of someone keeping tabs on her. Siobhan gives the actor a dose of some bitter medicine, word-wise and also in reality to bring her back.
American Horror Story Delicate Episode 2 continues with this loop and tone of Anna being in constant fear that someone is trying to harm her baby. Her hallucinations are more than ever and, she seems to have lost most of her social semblance.
The episode is an anxiety-inducing affair and a lot of it makes sense coming from David Lynch’s daughter, Jennifer Lynch being the director of this one. You can never expect anything and yet what turns up on your screen will end up making you uncomfortable and suspicious. It is notable how this episode connects you to the protagonist more strongly because you are as confused as Anna is about what on earth is happening. As a viewer you don’t have a secret or logic to explain the events taking place, much like Anna, putting both on the same strange boat.
American Horror Story Delicate Episode 2: Final Thoughts
American Horror Story Delicate is doing well so far. It seems like the franchise is ready to redeem itself through this one and, it is working in some manner. The cast is pulling off their characters with brilliance and the cinematography is comforting as it is disorienting making us question many things, which as an AHS fan, I think is a sign of a good season.
