Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian Episode 11 Review An All-Out War

It’s exam time for Masachika, and just like many of us, he’s struggling to focus. The scene is incredibly relatable as he battles the urge to take an anime break, knowing full well he won’t return to studying if he does. But things take a surprising turn when Alya suddenly calls him. During their conversation, we learn about both Alya’s and Masachika’s birthdays, and Alya isn’t pleased.

In Russian culture, birthdays are a big deal, and Alya is upset that Masachika, who claims to be her friend, didn’t invite her to his. When they meet in person, she expresses her frustration, prompting Masachika to admit that he rarely celebrates his birthday. To make it up to her, he suggests they go out for a belated birthday celebration three months later.

The episode also introduces other characters who bring plenty of humour and charm to the story. There’s mention of an upcoming student council presentation, where the candidates for president will give speeches to win over the student body. Their supporters will also share why they believe in their candidate, and the response from the audience will play a key role in determining the students’ interest.

On the lighter side, there are some hilarious moments, including Masha awkwardly avoiding Masachika after being hypnotized in a previous episode. She finally gathers the courage to ask about her behaviour under hypnosis, nervously wondering if Masachika saw anything embarrassing. He doesn’t exactly deny it.

The episode starts with a backstory that showcases just how bad childhood was for Masachika. He was slated to be the heir of his family and had to do everything with perfection to make his mother proud. Masachika also used to be a piano prodigy, but even after all his trying, his mother cared for nothing. Masachika wakes up with a fever, proving the memory taking a toll on him.

But now that he can not go to school, his day is surely going to be boring, right? Well, Alya is there to nurse him back. Apparently, she was informed by Yuki about Masachika’s predicament. Yuki also went as far as giving her Masachika’s address and the medicine he takes. She really became a matchmaker for her brother, but was this really out of goodwill or is she planning something evil?

Whatever her intentions might be, one thing is certain, she did Alya and her brother a great service as Masachika gets to experience Alya’s cooking for the first time. Not only that, but Alya also showed up in an apron, effectively curing him of his ailments. But all jokes aside, Alya really went out of her way to support Masachika.

However, the second half of this episode is the part where things really begin to thicken. Yuki comes off strong against Alya, proving she is a master manipulator and had Alya been alone, she would have won against her. But alas, our Russian beauty has a legion of supporters who are there to protect her from any enemies. Alya even manages to snag 2 more allies who would stop at nothing before making Yuki fall.

Verdict

Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian Episode 11 Review An All-Out War

Today’s episode was very interesting as we finally saw how similar Masachika and Yuki are to each other. They both are brilliant schemers and great at doing what they set out to do. Masachika has become serious about the fight, and the whole scenario has become more Masachika vs Yuki rather than Yuki vs Alya.
