And if this secret was not enough then master Lee’s solution to save Naksu only cam with more heartbreak for this is something that cannot be done.

Alchemy of Souls Season 2

Jin Bu-yeon’ Master Plan

Earlier episodes of season 2 have made it clear that it was Jin Bu-yeon who trapped Naksu’s soul inside her body when the latter performed the alchemy of souls, and this was so that she could save her body. However, master Lee has made it clear that it wasn’t just Jin Bu-yeon’s body that was being saved with the help of Naksu’s powers.

This weekend we came face to face with a truth that made us speechless, it was about Jin Bu-yeon’s real plans as to why she trapped Naksu’s soul inside her body. Naksu’s powers haven’t just helped save Jin Bu-yeon’s body but also helped her regain her divine powers and keep her body from going wild after soul shifting.

Back in season 1, Naksu herself was unsure if she will be able to perform the alchemy of souls when trying to escape, but to her shock, she succeeded without even getting the soul shifter’s mark. It is clear that this was because of Jin Bu-yeon, and now in the latest episode she has made it clear that she will be back.

It seems like Jin Bu-yeon must have lost part of her divine powers when trying to save herself after being pushed into the lake, and the only way to bring them back was to wait or find a powerful mage. That is when she came across Naksu and decided to use her for her gain; thus, she trapped her soul inside her body while giving Naksu the illusion that she successfully performed the alchemy of souls.

Now, she has fully regained her divine powers and is ready to take over her body again, but it looks like she may have gained more than just her powers.

The Way to Save Naksu

Alchemy of Souls season 2 episode 8 also revealed why master Lee is unable to let Jang Uk know about Naksu which he has shared with Seo Yul. Master Lee revealed that there is a way to save Naksu and let her soul take over Jin Bu-yeon’s body forever, however, this is forbidden sorcery that cannot be performed.

Jang Uk has the power of the ice stone which gives him everything he needs to make sure Nasku can be saved, however, forbidden sorcery is looked down upon and is a taboo among mages. And to add on, Jang Uk is someone who cannot use the power of the ice stone for his own personal gain; if he disobeys this rule then Park Jin will lose his life.

This is because Park Jin had promised the royal family and the Unanimous Assembly that if Jang Uk uses the power of the ice stone for his personal gain then he is ready to face the punishment of death. This was so that he could save Jang Uk’s life and was after he revoked the position of the leader of Songrim.

Now, if the truth is brought in front of Jang Uk then he will have to make a decision that will leave him devastated as he won’t be able to save the person he loves for the second time.

Alchemy of Souls season 2 episodes 7 and 8 have left us devastated as we continue to wish for this couple to have a happy ending only to be left disappointed. But let’s hope that they finally get their happy ending because that is what we wish for at this point.
