Alchemy of Souls Season 2 Star Hwang Min-hyun Wins Hearts With His Debonair Look For an Award Show!

Hwang Min-hyun, formerly known for his musical contribution to the South Korean boy bands NU’EST and Wanna One, and now ruling the screens with his performance in the noteworthy kdrama series Alchemy of Souls, is the new heartthrob in town. Starring alongside Lee Jae-wook even in the second instalment of the series (now available on Netflix), Min-hyun attended the Asia Artist Awards 2022, the 7th edition of the ceremony held on December 13, 2022, at Nippon Gaishi Hall Nagoya, Japan.

He looked nothing short of a gentleman turning up in the classic urbane black and white suit choice, all buttoned up and topped off with the elegance of a bow tie. After the event, he took to his Instagram profile to post his outfit of the day, in addition to celebrating his win. Earlier at the event venue, the ’95 liner actor, singer-songwriter bagged the trophy for his outstanding performance in the fantasy sageuk (historical) drama.

Taking away the AAA New Wave Award in the Actor category, he shared the title accolade with Choi Siwon. Later at the same event, his co-star Lee Jae-wook also won the Best Actor Award for playing the titular role of Jang Uk. The two fellow actors also shared the space at MAMA Awards 2022 held on November 29-30, 2022.

Min-hyun plays the main role of Seo Yul in the second season of the fantasy series sub-titled as Light and Shadow, just as he did in the first outing. Before his groundbreaking delivery in the said drama, he appeared as Go Eun-taek in Live On (2020) and is also set to star as Kim Do-ha in Useless Lies (2023). Moreover, way before his debut in the aforementioned Kpop boy groups, he also featured in music videos like Venus by Hello Venus, Shanghai Romance by Orange Caramel and Wonder Boy by A.S. Blue.

Netflix’s official description of the high trending series Alchemy of Souls reads, “A powerful sorceress in a blind woman’s body encounters a man from a prestigious family, who wants her help to change his destiny.”
