Alchemy of Souls Season 2 Episodes 9 and 10 Release Date: What to Expect?

Alchemy of Souls season 2 (Alchemy of Souls Part 2: Light and Shadow/ 환혼: 파트2) is the sequel of the Korean historical drama series directed by Park Joon-hwa and starring Lee Jae-wook, Jung So-min, Hwang Min-hyun, Shin Seung-ho, Yoo Jun-sang, Oh Na-ra and Jo Jae-yoon, alongside other cast members.

The sequel brings the story 3 years after the tragic ending we witnessed in season 1, and with Go Yoon-jung joining the cast as the new female lead. As Jang Uk becomes a hunter of the soul-shifters, a young woman, a prisoner in her own home, seeks his help to reclaim her freedom.

With episodes 7 and 8 bringing us closer to the end of this spectacular historical fantasy, now the Alchemy of Souls season 2 finale is almost here to once again blow our minds with an unforgettable ending. As Jin Mu takes another step closer to fulfilling his plans which can destroy the whole of Daeho, there is a war awaiting as the strong try to take over the superior power.

On the other hand, Naksu and Jang Uk have finally realised the former’s true identity, which means that these lovers are either to finally unite or to separate once again. So what will the final weekend of Alchemy of Souls season 2 bring for us all? Here’s what we expect from the upcoming episodes 9 and 10.

Alchemy of Souls Season 2: What to Expect in Episodes 9 and 10?

Alchemy of Souls season 2 episode 8 ended with Jang Uk coming to Naksu’s rescue only to be surprised when the blue soul shifter’s mark bloomed in her eyes. It is obvious that he is somewhat aware of who she might be after this so it won’t be a surprise that he will also soon understand why she did not tell him about this.

On the other hand, Jin Mu is confident that Naksu will not be able to make it out of the prison and is ready to move forward with his plans, thus she introduces the crown prince to the mages involved in his plans. However, it doesn’t seem like the crown prince is really here to support him because, with the speed of things, this seems more like an infiltration plan made by him and Jang Uk.

Not to forget, with Jang Uk arrives to save Naksu on time, it is quite obvious that he mustn’t have been too far from the place which proves that there is something that he has planned with the crown prince. Moving on, Jin Mu is definitely in for a surprise when Nasku returns from prison because as seen in the preview for the upcoming episode, Naksu is performing the rites for the lake.

However, Alchemy of Souls season 2 episode 9 will mostly show us the reunion between the two lovers and Naksu later returning to Cheonbugwan. It will be in episode 10, the Alchemy of Souls season 2 finale, when we see the rites for the lake happening and Songrim taking part in the war against Jin Mu.

Episode 9 will also show Seo Yul investigating what happened three years back that had Naksu go wild and it seems like someone has told him about the bells Jin Mu used. It is most probably Naksu who told him this which has made him ask the queen about the same, this may an effort of trying to get the royal family to stop supporting Jin Mu.

Altogether, a lot is set to happen during this finale weekend and we are all very excited to see how this story of the mages of Daeho is to end. Alchemy of Souls has really been an unforgettable historical fantasy which also makes this finale saddening for we have to ready ourselves for this last goodbye.

Alchemy of Souls season 2 episode 9 is set to release on January 7, 2023, at 9:10 PM KST (7:30 PM IST) on Netflix.

Alchemy of Souls season 2 episode 10 will follow episode 9 the next day as it releases on January 8, 2023, at the same time.
