Alchemy of Souls has given us some really exciting weekends and saying goodbye to this show is going to be a task. This historical fantasy has upped the game for others in this genre and it will be very hard to replace it. So all that we can do is say goodbye to this show while eagerly waiting for the next season.
The Korean fantasy drama is set in the imaginary world of Daeho. The story revolves around magicians who get involved in sorcery that swaps the souls of people and people whose fates are affected by them.
The series stars Lee Jae-wook, Jung So-min, Hwang Min-hyun, Shin Seung-ho, Yoo Jun-sang, Oh Na-ra and Jo Jae-yoon, alongside other cast members and is created by Park Joon-hwa, and the famous Hong Sisters- Hong Jung-eun and Hong Mi-ran.
So far, 18 out of 20 episodes of the show have been released of the show indicating its nearing end. In the latest episode, we saw the powerful mages gathered in Songrim’s training centre while young mages from their families are trapped inside a barrier in Jeongjingak.

While the families prepare themselves to fight for the ice stone, the queen and Jin Mu are preparing a plan of their own. However, Jin Mu and Jin Bu-yeon are suspicious of Mu-deok’s identity. This is after Mu-deok calls out “Mother” to Jin Ho-kyung and the ice stone moves toward her.
Inside Jeongjingak, Mu-deok realises that while her powers have returned and she can soul shift, this will result in the death of everyone present inside the barrier. She then gets to know that Jang Uk has put his life on the line to trap the soul shifter inside the barrier.
Upon defeating the soul shifter, her feelings are out and Jang Uk makes the promise to always be with her as he kisses her.
While the episode ends on a very powerful note, the upcoming weekend will see the season ending on an explosive note. This show will not end so easily because there is another season on the way.
This just points towards some happy moments but not complete satisfaction. However, as the preview for episode 19 indicates some amazing moments, it will still be worth it all. As master Lee had said, the ones who are to leave will leave and the ones who should return will return.

These words are pointing towards something really exciting and also scary but it is exactly what we would want! We know that Jang Kang is going to be doing something amazing in the next episode when the queen is performing her sorcery. But there’s also going to war like the one that took place 200 years back.
While episode 19 will be solving a lot of issues related to the barrier and the queen, Alchemy of Souls episode 20 will be leaving a door wide open for season 2. And this will only make us cry for the next season, which I hope they release as soon as possible.
The last episode will be throwing more revelations at us, and maybe Jang Uk being the King’s star will also be revealed to everyone in episode 20.
When is Alchemy of Souls Episode 20 Releasing?
Alchemy of Souls episode 20 will be out on August 28, 2022, on Netflix. The show has taken us on an exciting journey till now and looks like it will continue with this till the finale.
