Alchemy of Souls (Return/환혼) is a 2022 Korean historical drama series directed by Park Joon-hwa and starring Lee Jae-wook, Jung So-min, Hwang Min-hyun, Shin Seung-ho, Yoo Jun-sang, Oh Na-ra and Jo Jae-yoon, alongside other cast members.

The series revolves around Jang Wook and Mu-deok, residents of the fictional country of Daeho, whose shortcomings get eradicated when they invariably come into each other’s lives. Deok-yi, an elite warrior trapped in a weak body, becomes Jang Wook’s servant and secret teacher and helps him become better than the rumours that follow him. Will they be able to help each other get what they want out of life?

Alchemy of Souls takes over tvN’s Saturday-Sunday 9 PM KST timeslot previously occupied by Our Blues.

Netflix’s official synopsis reads: “A powerful sorceress in a blind woman’s body encounters a man from a prestigious family, who wants her help to change his destiny.”

The drama fantasy series stars Lee Jae-wook, Jung So-min, Hwang Min-hyun, Shin Seung-ho, Yoo Jun-sang, Oh Na-ra and Jo Jae-yoon, alongside other cast members and is created by Park Joon-hwa, Hong Jung-eun and Hong Mi-ran.

The series will stream from June 18, 2022, to August 21, 2022. Episode 9 of the series will stream on July 6 at 9 PM KST (7.30 PM IST).

Alchemy of Souls episode 9 has Jang Uk finally entering Seongrim but being unable to have Mu-deok tag along. However, she doesn’t give up and finds a way to enter Seongrim which is by participating in a competition. Elsewhere, Park Jin gets jealous of master Lee being close to housekeeper Park, will we see a development in their relationship?

Alchemy of Souls Episode 8 Recap

Alchemy of Souls episode 8 gives us the relief that Jang Uk did not undergo soul shifting. However, he gets to know that the Danju has the ice stone and they are in the palace. Elsewhere we get to know that the Danju is none other than the queen who is out for revenge against Seongrim and to control Daeho. The long-awaited duel between the crown prince and Jang Uk finally takes place with the latter’s win and offers from various organisations to become a pupil. Jang Uk however, chooses to join Songrim after asking Mu-deok.
