Alchemy of Souls 2 Episode 3 Stills: Lee Jae-wook’s Yin-Yang Jade Awakens After 3 Years

The never-ending stills for Alchemy of Souls 2 Episode 3 keep pouring more and more! Yesterday’s previews for the upcoming episode had Lee Jae-wook’s Jang Uk and Go Yoon-jung’s Jin Bu-yeon commemorating their first night together after making their relationship public by sealing it with a kiss. However, the new ones released today focus solely on Jae-wook’s character and the shocking revelation of his Yin-Yang jade having reawakened after three whole years.

The producers of the show have described this forthcoming turn in events as, “The yin-yang jade, which has been asleep for three years, will reawaken.” “Please tune in to find out whether Nak Soo’s soul is calling Jang Wook from the grave through the jade—or if it’s a third party that has poured energy into the blue jade.”

Alchemy of Souls is a fantasy sageuk drama which has returned after the massive success of the first season with the new chapter, Light and Shadow. The second season picks up speed three years after the first season’s tragedy. While the last episode had Jang Uk proclaiming that Bu-yeon is already married to him, the recently released stills of the new episode once again link him back to his former love. What are the reasons for the yin-yang jade to start glowing now after three years? Is this perhaps a means of reconnecting him with his deceased love?

We are just as shocked to to witness this groundbreaking event as Jang Uk is in the previews. The second half of the jade, i.e. the blue stone, was buried with Nak-su in the first season, but with the red jade lighting up in Jang Uk’s hand, could this be the start of something new?
