AI Love You: Everything You Need to Know About Netflix’s Upcoming Romantic Science Fiction

From A Silent Voice to the upcoming film AI Love You, Netflix has been a peak source for viewers to consume Japanese content be it anime, TV shows or films. The streaming giant is making really great progress with K-Drama on the platform and, with the release of this latest science fiction film on the OTT, we can be assured that the manga fans are also being looped into this platform.

AI Love You marks the directorial debut of Thai-French actor and filmmaker David Asavanond and, also has writer-creator Stephan Zlotescu associated with the project. Also known as Laser Candy, the film is written by Rattapong Pinyosopon. Ahead of the release of the film, let us have a look at some specific details starting from the cast to the release date.

The film will be headlined by Mario Maurer and Pimchanok Leuwisetpaiboon as Bobby and Lana, respectively, who are going to be seen together after an entire decade. The duo was in the 2010 romantic comedy Crazy Little Thing Called Love. The other cast members include Sahajak Boonthanakit, David Asavanond, Michael New, Supakyada Kalayanamit and James Laver.

AI Love You Plot/Synopsis

Netflix’s description of the film reads: “After a software glitch causes an advanced AI program to fall in love with a young woman, it escapes into the body of a man and tries to win her heart”. The film’s science fiction background sounds similar to previous Netflix projects such as Love, Death and Robots. However, the romantic twist to the story is something to look forward to as it sounds very much like the 2013 film Her. The film is further described as charming and exciting by Netflix.
