Aakhri Sach Episode 1 Review (Plot Summary and Discussion)
The first episode begins with everyone learning about the death of 11 members of the Rajawat family. While 10 members are found hanging, the eldest grandmother is found dead in another room. The case is assigned to Anya (played by Tamannaah Bhatia), who is taken aback by so many deaths together. They try to connect the dots and take as much information as possible from neighbours as well as family friends. It is revealed that a week ago, one of the Rajawat girls, named Anshika, got engaged to a man named Aman (Shivin Narang). However, the family members didn’t invite their friends and neighbours to the engagement ceremony.

The secrecy of the engagement ceremony and Aman’s presence at the crime scene in the morning raise suspicions. The first episode has a decent start, but since it’s inspired by Delhi’s 2018 Burari death case, the uncertainty factor isn’t much, as the case has been wildly popular.

Aakhri Sach Episode 2 Review (Plot Summary and Discussion)
In the second episode, the makers focus more on the Rajawat family than the cops. We learn about Bhuvan’s past (played by Abhishek Banerjee) and his brother Aadesh (Danish Iqbal). We are introduced to their father, Jawahar (played by Sanjiv Chopra), and the unfortunate circumstances that led to his death and deeply affected Bhuvan. Anya and her team investigate some goons who had once beaten up Bhuvan. In contrast, Aman does his own investigation by taking information from one of Jawahar’s daughters, Babita, who survived as she doesn’t live with them.

The pace of the investigation was fast, and the makers didn’t waste any time with unnecessary conversations and fillers to make the series more dramatic. In the second episode, only Jawahar’s death was the revelation that startles you. The moment the cops and Aman find something crucial for the case, the episode ends. It’s really a turn-off.
Aakhri Sach Review (Episodes 1 and 2): Final Thoughts
Overall, the first two episodes are average, as whatever is shown is already in the trailer. We knew the bodies would be found, and the cops would be staggered by such a complicated case. There’s already a documentary on Netflix called House of Secrets: The Burari Deaths, which offers a deep insight into what had happened to the family members and all the wild theories that made the case so sensational back then. So, releasing it as an episode doesn’t seem to be a wise decision for a case that’s already popular.
If the makers intend to show the cops’ point of view and their challenges during the investigation, then it might benefit Tamannaah to shine as Anya. So far, she has played her part well. But it’s a subject that one would’ve loved binging in altogether instead of waiting every week for a new episode, especially when there’s so much material available on it already. The case is just 5 years old.

The episodes highlight how there were public protests and media frenzy, pressuring the cops to find the truth. It’s true that the media had covered the case extensively. Hence, releasing just two episodes for the not-so-old case that was so broadly covered should’ve been avoided.
The first two episodes are now streaming on Disney+ Hotstar. A new episode will drop every Friday.
