A Virtuous Business Episode 10 Review: Jeong-suk Finds Geum-hui’s Secret

In Episode 9 of A Virtuous Business, Do-hyeon and Jeong-suk’s growing bond takes centre stage, though an awkward “forever friend” comment diffuses their romantic tension. Meanwhile, the tragic consequences of a jewellery heist unfolds as Geum-hui’s husband, Won-bong, becomes the unintended victim of a hit-and-run by Jong-seon and Du-seok, sending ripples of guilt through the culprits. As Do-hyeon, now on the case, inches closer to the truth, Jong-seon battles with his conscience, and his partner, Yeong-bok, urges him to keep the accident a secret for their children’s sake.

Jeong-suk, inspired by her friend’s free-spirited relationship, shares a carefree day with Do-hyeon at a theme park, giving her a break from her responsibilities. However, the weight of the heist and accident resurfaces when Yeong-bok confesses the truth to Geum-hui, leading to a heartbreakingly tense confrontation. With emotional stakes rising, this episode strikes a balance between suspense and tenderness as each character grapples with guilt, loyalty, and the pursuit of happiness amidst personal turmoil.

In Episode 10 of A Virtuous Business, Geum-hui confronts Jong-sun at the police station, furious that he left her injured husband, Won-bong, on the road rather than seeking immediate help. However, Do-hyeon soon reveals that Jong-sun was the one who anonymously reported Won-bong’s condition out of guilt. Jeong-suk later encourages Young-bok to make amends with Geum-hui rather than isolating herself. Taking her friend’s advice, Young-bok decides to reach out.

At the hospital, Won-bong urges Geum-hui to consider Young-bok’s difficult situation, reminding her that she still cares for their friends. Though still angry, Geum-hui feels torn. Young-bok and Jeong-suk then arrive, and Young-bok apologizes, explaining that she had no knowledge of her husband’s actions. Geum-hui is too hurt to respond and starts to leave but stops when she sees Young-bok collapse, revealing that she is pregnant. Overwhelmed by sympathy, Geum-hui rushes Young-bok to the hospital, and the two share an emotional moment, reconciling over their mutual struggles.

The next day, Young-bok and Jong-sun apologize to Won-bong, and they find closure. Geum-hui, wanting to protect Jong-sun’s children, requests that Do-hyeon keep the case details private. Jong-sun begins his detention with a promise of parole. To celebrate solving the case, Do-hyeon invites Jeong-suk over for dinner. As Jeong-suk’s friends discuss why men invite women for home-cooked meals, she finds herself flustered, wondering about Do-hyeon’s intentions. That evening, her nerves continue until she candidly shares her friends’ teasing. Do-hyeon smiles, admitting that he has feelings for her, and they share a kiss.

Meanwhile, Dae-geun, struggling to find privacy for his relationship with Ju-ri, is delighted to discover that his family will be away on vacation. Do-hyeon’s search for his mother takes a new turn when his senior officer provides information about an old adoption center where files are kept for a price. They locate the town’s midwife, but her Alzheimer’s complicates their questioning. Do-hyeon learns that her assistant, “Ok-yeop’s mom,” might hold answers. Jeong-suk digs into Ok-yeop’s background, and her inquiries make a local woman nervous. Finally, Do-hyeon tracks down Jo Sun-ae, Ok-yeop’s mother, and she reluctantly recounts her son’s death and her financial struggles.

Noticing inconsistencies in her story, Do-hyeon presses her on how she could afford her current lifestyle despite her past hardship. Suddenly, he loses consciousness and awakens bound in her basement, where he overhears Sun-ae praying for the babies she kidnapped and sold. In a tense exchange, Do-hyeon accuses Sun-ae of separating him from his parents, but she insists he isn’t one of her victims, explaining she marked each child with a cross—a mark he doesn’t have. Meanwhile, Jeong-suk, following a lead from a convenience store owner, finds Sun-ae’s house. She spots Do-hyeon’s wallet, realizes he’s in danger, and bursts in, accidentally knocking over a lamp and starting a fire.

At the hospital, Do-hyeon is devastated at hitting another dead end in his search for his birth parents. Jeong-suk tries to comfort him, handing him a parcel from his U.S. adoptive parents containing the outfit he wore as a baby. Examining it, they notice initials stitched into the fabric: “K.B.H.”. Before they can investigate further, Jeong-suk’s friends arrive to check on Do-hyeon.

Later, Geum-hui invites Do-hyeon to a party celebrating Won-bong’s discharge and suggests he come with Jeong-suk as a couple. At the party, Jeong-suk heads to Geum-hui’s storeroom in search of an extra stove. There, she stumbles upon a box filled with baby toys and a small dress embroidered with the same “K.B.H.” initials. Stunned, Jeong-suk returns to the party and watches Geum-hui laughing with Do-hyeon, the realization dawning that Geum-hui might be his mother.
