In the third episode, Ji-an finds an unlikely ally in a gun-trotting assassin who saves her from the others and gives her a hint to go underneath her uncle’s workstation in the shed. Confused, she and Jeong-min make their way and, after some pondering, figure out the passcode which takes them to a colourful weapons mall and puts them in front of a masked gunman called Brother.

A Shop For Killers Episode 4 Recap

Starting off in the past, we see Jin-man on the night his family was killed and he rushed out of the house leaving Ji-an at home alone. On the way to his mother’s funeral, he comes across a bunch of assassins who have a connection with his past and a court case, surrounding someone called Bale.

In the present, Hyun-min turns the lights off in the shed and hunts for the assassins in the dark. After an extended fight sequence, Min-hye takes everyone out one by one. Meanwhile, Ji-an and Jeong-min come across Brother, who asks her to handcuff Jeong-min but instead, she knocks Brother out. Upon taking his mask off, she goes back to thinking about her past and how she missed out on normal interactions thanks to her uncle’s strictness. She had a heart-to-heart discussion with him surrounding feeling stuck at home and he tells her that she can move out on the day she can hit his face.

And so starts Ji-an trying to hit Jin-man but is unable to be fast enough to land a punch. She eventually asks Pasin to teach her Muay Thai and after a few months, she becomes good enough to ward off a bunch of miscreants. Unfortunately, that’s also the night she finds out that Pasin has run away with other people’s money.

In the present, Ji-an and Jeong-min try to find out more from Brother but he gets out of his cuffs and runs off, eventually trapping Ji-an in his room under the ground. He then hunts down Jeong-min and gets him cuffed before telling Ji-an about the handover of murthehelp and that Jeong-min is the reason Jin-man died. As she tries to understand whom to trust, she remembers her uncle’s words about taking responsibility for her actions and asks Brother to go outside with bullets and medicine for Min-hye. Unfortunately, Jeong-min turns around and backstabs her in the end and injects her with something that makes her incapable of moving.

Epilogue

In the last scene, Seong-jo and his team are left enamoured with a new technology of guns that can be controlled with a computer.

Still From A Shop For Killers Episode 4

The series knows where to leave us hanging so it’s a frustrating wait for all. Now that shocking truths have come to the open, we can’t help but be frustrated by Ji-an’s hasty decision-making. Towards the end of the runtime, I couldn’t help but scream at Ji-an for ignoring the glaring red flags that Jeong-min was waving from a mile away. That being said, it definitely adds some more spice to the storyline albeit a spice that we have grown accustomed to.
