We have our focus completely shifting from a romance that’s trying its best to hide his flaws to two souls realising how their dreams have gotten lost amidst the love that they were sacrificing for. With the first snow happening, Mi-do and Ho reconnect over their past, and they wonder about their uncertain future, which makes their love life complicated.

When Love Means Giving Something Up
Ho tries his best to make things work out with Mi-do. He shows her the film grant application and also steps into cover the 20 percent of the production. He shows her his savings and makes her understand that he is beside her while she pursues her dream. However, the gesture feels bittersweet.
He himself has once given up on his dream of becoming an artist and pursued a normal career to earn money. We see flashbacks of him showing his paintings and him burning them. He also has done a portrait of Mi-do and burned it as well. This shows that he has once lost something important to him, and he knows that it hurts.
His message to Mi-do is simple: he does not want her to give up her dream because of what’s going on between them. However, his helping her out might also become a situation where she owes him, and it could limit her. The wedding hall visit and the engagement ring make things even more complicated. Ho has clearly planned his future around Mi-do, right down to recreating the proposal she wanted. However, Mi-do is still questioning her decision because she feels lost.
Mi-do Is Trapped Between Two Choices
Mi-do has to either compromise her career for Ho and live a sweet life with him or completely pursue her director dream and leave Ho for good. She tells Tae-seung that she wants to become a director again because she does not want to be a burden to Ho.
That line says a lot about her mental state. She isn’t confused between two men, but she is struggling within herself. Tae-seung offers her a way back into the film industry, but his methods are ruthless. Using Hae-na’s father and his fraudulent past, he helps Mi-do gain leverage over him. However, it isn’t morally okay, but it is still effective.
And when Mi-do gets drunk and lashes out at Tae-seung, blaming him for ruining everything, the situation escalates. Her anger seems far more rooted. Tae-seung clearly sees that Ho has Mi-do locked in his arms. Not in an intentional way, but their relationship has become thick and suffocating.
Nam-gung’s Past Changes Everything
The episode’s flashbacks are pivotal in showing what’s going on. We see that Ho donated his kidney to his mother adds too many strong layers. His mother left him with loan shark debt, yet he still gave her his kidney. All he had on his mind was the memory of stolen peaches from his childhood, which helped him to stay.
His explanation that he could not say no because the peaches were sweet is heartbreaking precisely because it is so simple. All that child wanted was to eat. It also shows why he is not able to let go of Mi-do. It’s simple: he loves her, and he can’t process the thought of having her as just a memory.
The First Snow Returns
The episode brings everything back to the first snow, and this is where things move on. Ho and Su-a are seen sharing a quiet moment after the chaos, while Mi-do wakes up in Tae-seung’s office with lots of calls from Ho. The contrast is heavy.
The flashback of young Mi-do waiting for HO on the roof, followed by their hug, shows that there was once genuine warmth between them. But now, they’re apart. Mi-do is lost and is in the palms of Ho’s love, whereas Ho is just living his life.
Final Thoughts
Episode 4 works because it does not give easy answers. Ho wants to protect Mi-do, Mi-do wants to reclaim herself, and Tae-seung sees an opportunity in the space between them. Su-a is slowly falling for Ho, but she knows she has to be a girl’s girl. Everyone is reaching for something, but nobody seems to be reaching in the same direction.
And perhaps that is the real question the episode leaves behind: are Mi-do and Ho still dreaming the same dream?
