Marvel Iron Man Game Leaked Trailer Surfaces Online; Takes Over the Internet

Marvel Iron Man Game Leaked Trailer Surfaces Online: Tony Stark has re-entered the gaming conversation amidst the conversations around EA’s Iron Man game trailer leak. An unfinished trailer for EA Motive’s long-awaited Iron Man game surfaced online, giving fans their first look at the project in four years.

The footage runs for around two and a half minutes and appears to be an internal, in-progress test trailer rather than a finished, public reveal trailer. It is reportedly a soundless video which spread across Reddit. There is apparently a lot of flying.

Marvel Iron Man Game Leaked Trailer: The Iron Man Leaks Show Tony Stark Taking to the Skies

The leaked footage reportedly opens with Iron Man lifting and flying through a big city. Iron Man can seemingly transition between flying and fighting without much fuss, and the footage also shows him grabbing and throwing enemies, hovering while attaching and speeding through the environment.

This is where the internet immediately locked in because if there is an Iron Man game, flying cannot be bad. Nobody would want to spend years to discover Tony Stark flies like a confused drone. In the leaked footage, Motive apparently appears to be leaning into speeding and freedom as Stark moves through the environment quickly, dives towards enemies and takes off again.

While the flying gets reactions, there is reportedly a glimpse at how Tony’s armour could work. The report by another media website suggests a shot of Tony Stark adjusting the armour that looks “player-facing”,  and a grid inventory for moving suit parts around.

Fans Are Mostly Just Relieved the Game Is Alive

A user on X, @MegaMaxing, expressed relief after the leak, saying that, after EA cancelled Black Panther, fans feared the same fate for Iron Man.

EA Motive announced the Iron Man game in 2022, describing it as a single-player, third-person action-adventure game. Since then, official information has been very limited, and EA’s current EA Motive page still lists the project as a current project: “An all-new single-player, third-person, action-adventure Iron Man video game, developed in collaboration with Marvel Games.”

The long silence has naturally created panic among the fans, and the leak changed it overnight.

Before anyone starts planning their perfect game’s night: this is unfinished footage, and nothing is official. We do not know how much of the system in the leaked footage will survive into the final game or exactly how extensive it would be.

Marvel Fans Do What They Are Best At

The footage has also become a character-identification exercise for the Marvel fans. According to Reddit, leaks include Pepper, Rhodey, Obadiah Stane, Justin Hammer, Madame Masque, Crimson Dynamo, Whiplash, and Blizzard and mention that S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier and Japan appear in footage.

These identifications are based on analysing the leaked footage and should not be treated as an official cast list. The development footage is not a Marvel encyclopedia, and what appears on the screen is not yet the full story.

The “AUG26” stamp has also led to speculation that the footage may have been created for a recent internal test or playtest. What we cannot say is exactly why it was created or what internal stage it is, and considering that the internet can build a multiple-part conspiracy theory out of a stamp, the distinction is important.

EA Has Confirmed the Footage Is Real

This is where the leak stops being just another internet rumour, as after the footage began circulating, EA got to the Iron Man account that remains largely inactive. The account posted a message acknowledging that things had not gone according to plan and teased that there is “a lot more to show” when the team is ready for the EA Iron Man game.

The leak appears to have forced the game’s hand a little, but the official response also gives fans something they did not have for four years: a confirmation that the game is happening.

Let Us Not Call This the Final Game Yet

This is the one thing worth keeping in mind before the excitement goes completely overboard. What appears is a leaked video, and the leaked video is not the finished game. Period.

It is unfinished development footage: the visuals, mechanics, characters, locations and systems shown here can all change before the release. There is no official release date attached to the project at the time of writing this. The leaked footage reportedly ends with a placeholder for a release rather than a window to the actual game or the date.

This leak does not mean that Iron Man would surprisingly release next month, unless announced. It simply means that after four years of complete silence, fans finally have something to look at.
