Subaru Gets an Emotional Return to Emilia and Beatrice
Natsuki Subaru wakes up to find out he got lucky with life yet again. This time as well, in front of him are two people: Emilia and Beatrice. However, unlike other times, this Subaru is extremely happy to see them. He is also confident because he knows exactly how to approach the day that keeps repeating for him. Not only that, but there is tenderness in the way he speaks to both the ladies, and he even breaks down in tears when he sees Beatrice again. Even Emilia realises that something must have happened and, as usual, she supports him right away.
However, the challenge comes after this. Beatrice and Emilia are two characters who are the least problematic ones in this anime. They mostly believe in Subaru in every kind of circumstance, unlike others in the party, especially Ram.
Subaru Finally Wins Ram Over After Losing His Memories
Even before, Ram did not take the news of Subaru losing his memories gracefully. She was already angry about her sister’s situation, and the added information that Subaru forgot about everyone did not sit well with her. In her mind, Subaru betrayed her and her sister by somehow forgetting them, even though it was not his fault. Ram refused to understand the situation and acted in a hostile manner towards him. This time as well, she showcased a similar behaviour at least in the beginning.
However, unlike before, Subaru did not come off as emotionally drained. Subaru stood his ground and claimed that even though he did not remember anyone, he would try his best to get Rem back. These words reassured Ram, and she kind of became more agreeable with Subaru’s current situation.
The Truth Behind Subaru’s Attack Finally Comes to Light
One of the biggest mysteries of the season was who pushed Subaru when he first woke up with his lost memories. In this episode, we finally get an answer to that. It would be a lie to say this was completely unexpected, but it could still surprise fans, especially because the person responsible for the deed was acting friendly towards the protagonist. There was hardly any animosity between them, so it was indeed a surprise that they would resort to such act.
However, the reason behind their action was also very believable, and it added a layer of drama to the storyline. It also stunned how well Subaru managed to handle the situation without escalating it. On top of that, everyone came together collectively to think about the problem that stood in front of them. They realised someone was involved in erasing Subaru’s memories.
Verdict
This episode served as a very well-thought-out continuation of the previous part. It gave us enough answers to keep us satisfied, while also holding back just enough to keep us invested in the story. Not everything was covered here, and we still have no idea how or why Subaru lost his memories. However, we now have a clear idea of where Subaru will go from here and what his main priority will be moving forward.
