Siren’s Kiss Episode 8 Recap

The episode resumes with Jun-beom asking Seol-ah whether she thinks he’s trying to avenge his friend Su-ho’s death. Hearing this, Woo-seok rushes inside the building to save Jun-beom. But we see Jun-beom clearly mentioning that he only wanted to get close to Seol-ah, and this makes her smirk. Right then, the building’s fire alarm goes off, and Jun-beom is visibly shaken. His breathing starts to get rough, and his assistant rushes in to catch him.

Seol-ah leaves the building with Woo-seok, and soon Jun-beom finds that it is Woo-seok who started the alarm. Woo-seok tells Seol-ah that they found evidence showing that the car used by the anonymous killer belongs to Jun-beom. This prompts the team to somehow catch hold of Jun-beom’s real intentions.

Later, Seol-ah reveals to Woo-seok that the reason she wanted to become an auctioneer is because of her late dad, who was an artist himself. We see through a flashback that the loan shark who made Han’s life worse is Sun-ae. Woo-seok understands that Seol-ah has joined the auction to be under Sun-ae and find out her illegal activities. Seol-ah also reveals about Sun-ae’s private locker with valuable paintings, which also includes her late dad’s.

At the auction, when Jun-beom arrives, Woo-seok teases him about the murder plans. Right then, when Jun-beom takes a sip of the champagne, he collapses. Noticing he is diabetic, Seol-ah searches his coat, finds an EPIPen and stabs it in his thigh, which makes Woo-seok wonder how she knows about it. As Jun-beom leaves to take a rest, Seol-ah notices that something is off about Jun-beom and wishes to talk to him.

Meanwhile, Eun-hye steals Seol-ah’s documents on Sun-ae and gives them to Jae-uk. Woo-seok takes the EPIPen to get samples of Jun-beom and match them with crime records. Seol-ah meets Jun-beom, and he takes her to a so-called special place. As she enters the villa, she notices that all the architecture resonates with what Su-ho once told her.

As he keeps talking, Seol-ah calls Jun-beom Su-ho and his eyes well up. At the hospital, Woo-seok learns that Jun-beom’s DNA matches Su-ho’s, meaning they’re the same person. At the villa, Jun-beom, aka Su-ho, explains how, in Syria, Jun-beom died, and his face was used to reconstruct Su-ho’s face.

Hearing this, Seol-ah is shocked, but as usual, Su-ho mocks and threatens her. Woo-seok informs the police, and they find that Jun-beom, aka Su-ho, has been stalking Seol-ah. As they rush to find them, Woo-seok finds a shocking scene. Jun-beom, aka Su-ho, lies dead on the ground as Seol-ah turns with a bloody face.

Siren’s Kiss Episode 8 Review

This episode really keeps the tension lurking around. Jun-beom panicking when the alarm beeps, his diabetic attacks, and his being left-handed were subtle clues to show he is Su-ho. Seol-ah has always been around this guy, but given her ambition, she wasn’t noticing anything about him. But slowly, when the truth comes out, Seol-ah realises how deadly her surroundings have been.

The backstory about his identity swap is shocking, and the villa scene adds a creepy, intense vibe. Just when things couldn’t get more dramatic, the episode ends on a cliffhanger with Su-ho dead and Seol-ah covered in blood. It leaves you wondering what really happened and builds strong anticipation for the next episode.
