My Dress-Up Darling Episode 10 Recap
The episode kicks off with a comical mix-up between Marin and Gojo. Marin mistakenly assumes that Gojo is inviting her to spend the night in a romantic and possibly intimate way, when in reality his intentions couldn’t be more innocent. Believing he has set the mood and made preparations, she braces herself for what she thinks is coming. In truth, Gojo’s only plan is to stay up all night gaming, with energy drinks lined up to keep him awake. The gap between Marin’s overactive imagination and Gojo’s straightforward mindset fuels a wave of playful tension, turning even the smallest gestures into hilariously charged moments.
Gojo’s determination to stay awake ends up looking like a smouldering intensity in Marin’s eyes, which only heightens her misunderstanding. The comedy escalates when she tumbles off the sofa and Gojo rushes to help, something she interprets as the beginning of a romantic advance. The moment fizzles when she dozes off soon after, leaving Gojo free to dive back into his game, completely oblivious to the scenario Marin had constructed in her head.

The following day, Marin is left red-faced over her own assumptions. She had imagined the night would lead to a turning point in their relationship, even building up the courage to confess her feelings. But the fear of rejection looms large, because what if Gojo doesn’t feel the same and only sees her as a friend? Worse still, she worries about being pushed away altogether.
My Dress-Up Darling Season 2 Episode 11 Review

This episode opens with Akira and her past, where her mother absolutely hated the fact that she liked manga and anime. She even tried to stop her reading manga by throwing all her collection, and now that Akira is old enough, she can finally love the things that she likes openly. Later, Akira goes to Gojo’s house, and there she compliments him about his doll-making. She also closely sees how he does everything and asks very important questions regarding his craft. It seems she really is interested in his hobby and genuinely likes the fact that he takes such pride in his work.
On the other hand, we get to see how some cosplayers enhance their chest part and look more mature, even though their natural body type is completely different. Miya also reveals how she never let her height or body structure get in the way of cosplaying as guys because she has loved cosplaying like her favourite characters. Now she is experienced enough that nobody can even tell that she’s a woman when she dresses up as a guy.

On the other hand, Gojo freely talks with Akira and even tells her how he wants to make pops by himself. But that was not all, this episode also reinforces positive behaviours in the cosplaying world and how every cosplayer tries their best to support the other with encouraging words and help.
Verdict

Today’s episode was a good one, as it showcases essential friendships between the characters and how they came to accept themselves thanks to others. But we did not see any interaction between Gojo and Marin, which was sad. Hopefully, in the next episode, we will get to see them together. Interestingly, Marin also asks whether Akira hates her in front of her friends, to which they panic. We might get more on this in the next episode as well.
