Kian’s Bizarre B&B Week 1 Review: Kian84 is here with an unconventional bed and breakfast guesthouse that leaves everyone surprised, while BTS Jin and SNL Korea’s Ji Ye-eun help him welcome and serve the guests who come to this place. Bringing us healing and humour, this show sets off with three wonderful episodes that will leave you laughing and shocked with Kian84’s uncanny imagination. However, things aren’t easy for the staff as the weather leaves them facing an unexpected situation.

The series has 9 episodes and will be released from 8th April 2025 to 22nd April 2025, releasing three episodes every Tuesday.

Kian’s Bizarre B&B Week 1 Recap

Kian84’s bizarre bed and breakfast guesthouse is here, and it is welcomed with excitement, however, things aren’t as fun as expected because the owner of this guesthouse loves to play things differently. Episode 1 of the show begins with Kian84 meeting the Netflix team where they discuss his vision of the guesthouse. Trying to create something like Hyori’s Homestay, the team starts off positively until Kian84 decides to bring his own twists and change the healing theme of the show to a comedy adventure.

The episode shows him creating an unconventional B&B that not only challenges the team but soon becomes a challenge for the staff that he requested on the show. Aiming for the best, he gets the best as SNL Korea’s Ji Ye-eun and K-pop group BTS member Jin arrive days later when the set is prepared and they are ready to take off. Soon, the trio see Kian84’s vision come to life and are shocked to see the guesthouse floating on the beautiful waters of Ulleungdo Island. Unfortunately, they are unable to climb aboard as a typhoon forces them to change plans, and the trio heads to the owner’s back-up plan.

In the middle of greenery in the mountains, Kian84 sets up a temporary abode which can only be reached by a monorail. Jin and Ye-eun are once again shocked by the place in front of them, which only gets worse when they enter the place in front of them. While the abandoned house in the mountains is remodeled, it still surprises them, but soon enough, they begin preparing to welcome their guests.

Episode 2 continues into the trio welcoming their guests and trying their best to serve them despite the lack of amenities, and put an end to night one. The next day, the guests all leave to visit the scenic spots on the island while the trio heads to check their main abode in the sea. The day has cleared up and they get the green signal to move to the real place where the shock soon unfolds. But first, Ye-eun takes the group to the sea with her newly acquired boat license, and while it is a rocky start, she soon gets the hang of it and is ready to pick up the guests.

Upon reaching the main guesthouse, Ye-eun and Jin cannot stop contemplating everything that they see in front of them as Kian84’s imagination leaves them stunned. From entering the house by climbing a wall, to the dining room by sliding down a pole, and leaving the house from the second floor through a slide, everything about this house is bizarre. Standing in the middle of a house screaming chaos, the two know that this isn’t going to be easy for them.

Episode 3 moves into the trio preparing to move their guests there and getting ready to welcome some new guests. After a tiring time moving the bag and groceries into the house, Ye-eun leaves to bring the guests from the port. Soon, the guests are also shocked with what they see, but luckily they’ve got some professional climbers in the group who help the guests enter the house. Upon entering, they are even more shocked, but they decide to make the best of this time.

After a fun dinner and an ice breaker, it is soon time to sleep, but reaching their beds is also a task. The beds are all placed outside the house and are hanging by the wall. Crawling out the windows to reach their beds, the guests soon settle down and go to sleep. However, unexpected situations are sure to happen in this adventurous house, and soon, it starts to rain.

Kian’s Bizarre B&B Week 1 Review

What a start it has been to this show and I have to say, the house created by Kian84 is surely beyond my expectations. While the house itself is as expected- bizarre! The staff are also as entertaining in ways you wouldn’t see coming. After the ice breaker in the first episode, I love how everyone gets comfortable with each other, which becomes more prominent when they start sighing over the things that Kian84 has put in front of them.

What really strikes me are the guests who have been selected for the show. From students from KIAST to athletes and more, the people coming as guests are also intriguing and definitely not simple. Though they are faced with the most unexpected of BnBs out there, they are not losing morale and are able to smoothly accommodate the challenge in front of them.

Then there are the angel and demon on Kian84’s shoulder- Jin and Ye-eun, where one tries to take the easy way while the other keeps Kian84 in check. This trio is certainly hilarious in their own way, and I am excited to see how well they work together in the upcoming episodes. This week has been focused on creating a foundation, so it was just right, but the real trials are going to happen next week.
