Romance in the House Episode 2 Recap
The episode opens with Moo-jin’s return to Ae-yeon and their kids which shocks the latter as Ae-yeon asks him if he bought the villa because he knew they lived there. Moo-jin answers with a scoff while a flashback shows the scene of their divorce from 11 years ago. Meanwhile, the neighbours discuss the failure Moo-jin years back while thinking about how he could buy the building now.
Elsewhere, Moo-jin decides to renovate the burnt flat and is helped by his son, who is happy about his return, unlike his daughter, who tells him they will move out very soon. The mother-daughter duo soon begin to look for a new place to move into, clearly finding it harder than it seemed. However, Ae-yeon soon begins to have a change of heart when Moo-jin tells her that she can continue to live there, even free of cost.

Meanwhile, Mi-rae’s stress only exceeds when her ex-boyfriend arrives at her workplace and creates a ruckus while publically humiliating her. Tae-pyung witnesses this and later helps Mi-rae escape to a quieter place. Mi-rae is distressed by this incident and ends up walking to the place where her mother once opened a snack bar, only to have it ruined by her father’s actions, leading to their divorce.

The duo’s search for a place to move into is yielding no results which causes friction between the two. Ae-yeon finally decides to take matters into her own hands and asks Moo-jin to meet. She asks him once again if he bought the villa knowing that they were living there. Moo-jin tries to avoid answering it but Ae-yeon knows his habits like the back of her hand and easily catches his lies.

Moo-jin tries to run away but Ae-yeon wants her answers and after a lot of pushing and pulling, he finally confesses that he bought the villa so that he could live with her. He tells her how he had to go through a lot so that he could get here which leaves Ae-yeon shocked as she tries to free her hand. Right then Mi-rae arrives and is about to get rid of Moo-jin when Tae-pyung flies out of nowhere and kicks Moo-jin in the face.
Everyone is shocked by this as Ae-yeon runs to Moo-jin while Tae-pyung finally realises what he has done. However, Mi-rae can only think about the chaos that is about to begin and pushes Moo-jin into the ground once again as she pulls her mother away from this man. The ending scene shows an old man from the neighbourhood recalling how he saw Moo-jin with the old landlord the day before the fire incident.
