Bound to be a Devil Korean Movie: Jun Hyosung to Star in Upcoming Thriller Based On Real-Life Incident

On August 1, OSEN reported that Jun Hyosung is in talks to lead the cast of the highly anticipated film Bound to be a Devil (tentative title). This upcoming Korean thriller draws inspiration from a notorious criminal case that shocked South Korea two years ago.

According to a representative from Alien Company, the agency representing Jun Hyosung, the actress has been offered a significant role in the film and is currently considering it. If she accepts, this role would be her first leading part in a film, marking a major milestone in her career that began with her debut in the girl group SECRET in 2009.

The film Bound to be a Devil (악마가 될 수밖에) is based on a disturbing real-life incident that occurred in May 2022. The case involved a man in his thirties, identified only as A, who viciously attacked a woman, B, outside her apartment in Busan. The crime came to public attention when surveillance footage revealed A stalking the victim, assaulting her, and dragging her into a location obscured from view. The brutality of the attack and the shocking footage stirred national outrage.

The film aims to delve into broader themes of violence and societal responses to such crimes in South Korea. It is expected to reflect on the societal impact of random assaults and the community’s reaction to these incidents. Notably, the film’s script has been influenced by the real-life victim’s experiences, who has been consulted to ensure an authentic representation of the events.

Jun Hyosung In Talk To Start In Bound to be a Devil Korean Movie

Jun Hyosung, who recently garnered attention for her role in the 2023 drama Celebrity, is also known for her performances in Memorist and The Pure Memories of My Heart. Her transition from a K-pop idol to a successful actress has been marked by a series of compelling roles that have expanded her appeal beyond the music industry.

The production of Bound to be a Devil is set to begin in mid-August, with a planned release for next year. The film is anticipated to explore intense and thought-provoking themes, reflecting on the profound impact of violence on individuals and society.
